Tricky

The yogurt maker does not heat evenly to create firm yogurt. On the first run, half the yogurts were completely watery and we had to throw them away. It is key to add extra ingredients to thicken (which ever you choose) and to increase all the recipes so that the cups will fill up more than half way.

This product makes yogurt-making a breeze. The automatice timer is a key feature. And the jar lids don't leak. It was worth waiting for (was out of stock for awhile)!

Love it, love it, love it!!! This is a wonderful product that is extremely easy to use. I really like the fact that there is space at the top of the jars after you fill them. This allows room to throw in raspberries, granola or whatever I want. I highly recommend this yogurt maker.

I like it except that the containers are only about 2/3's full when you make the yogurt according to the recipe. Other than that I'm happy.

Great product - worked as advertized! I love these yogart containers. No transferring stuff around into other
containers to take to lunch. The timer works great, the ability to restart, or reset is handy. Simple to use, just
plug it in and set the time.

The only thing I would have liked was that the thermometer that came with the unit would have had some
actual temperature temperature scale instead of just
markings for where to the add starter. Also would have been handy if it had the boil line on it. Normally, I'm using Milk from the frig,
be nice to know how close to boiling one is. Usually I boil the milk for 3 minutes. I also purchased the extra containers.
They work great. You can carry the product to work or school for lunches. Containers don't leak, tight fitting.
I pack an ice pack beside it, and it stays cool until lunch time.

Reliability

We use this yogurt maker daily for our retail food business. Although not recommended for commercial use, so far it has stood up to two years of daily use. We get perfect results every time. Rather than use the six oz containers that come with the machine, we use four oz disposable containers in which we retail the yogurt in our store. www.auntiecraes.com

It was very easy to use and makes very good yogurt. The directions are a little too brief at times but everything turned out OK. It would be helpful in the description of the item at Cooking.com to mention that you can use supermarket yogurt as a starter for the yogurt maker. I was expecting to have to track down "yogurt starter" from a health food store and did not really kow what that was. Plain old unflavored Dannon from the store worked just fine. You find this out after you receive the product with its instructions.

I purchased this yogurt maker since I am trying to avoid as much sugar as possible in my diet. Since reading the book, French Women Don't Get Fat, I decided to give yorgurt making a try. The yorgurt is the best I ever had. No comparison to anything store bought. It was easy and not time consuming. I like making the choice of flavors and additions to the basic recipe. I thought it was a bit pricey but I know it will pay for itself soon.

Great yogurt maker. Just be sure when making your own yogurt to raise the temp. of the milk to between 185 to 190 degrees before taking it off the heat and beginning the cooling stage. Then you'll make yogurt and not some watery mess.

The fresh yogurt is outstanding. I keep mine in for 18 hours. It is smooth, tart and delicious.
