We now have six of these gallon jars which we saw on Martha Stewart. They are excellent for flour, sugar, tea, cereal, et c. They are classy, clean and easy to use. They also let you know the amount remaining. We really like them. They work well when it is time to soak green tomato pickles in lime before canning.

We use these to store the coffee units for the Flavia machine, and its easy to use with the wide mouth and a lid that is not too heavy. When you have arthritis, these little things count. Most canisters have too narrow an opening. These are nice and big.

Proper proportion (width & heighth), good weight on lid and glass is thick enough but not heavy.
