Whether you're sneaking a ginger snap from it while no one's looking or filling it to the brim with fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, the Anchor Hocking 1-gal. Glass Cookie Jar makes enjoying your favorite treats even more fun. This vintage-inspired glass jar holds plenty of cookies or dessert bars, and because it's transparent, your culinary creations will tempt everyone in the room. The jar comes with a matching lid, so everything inside stays fresh when you use it during a long event, and the large knob is easy to grasp, so opening the jar is simple. The sturdy glass doesn't hold odors or flavors, and both the jar and lid are dishwasher safe for convenience. Best Used For: While we love filling this cookie jar with everything from lavender shortbread squares to scrumptious snickerdoodles, it's also useful for serving and displaying candy and fruit. We've even been known to fill it with punch and use a ladle to serve drinks straight from the jar. You can also use it as a canister for flour or sugar, or to brine or soak foods before canning. Features:
  • Large capacity lets you create an impressive cookie or candy display
  • Glass construction gives you visual access to the contents, so you know when refills are needed
  • Included lid keeps cookies fresh
  • Made in the USA
  • Wide mouth makes it easy to reach in and grab a cookie
  • Capacity: 1 gallon
  • Cleaning & Care: Dishwasher Safe
  • Dimensions/Size: 10-in. with lid, 8-in. without lid, 7.5-in. diameter
  • Material: Glass
  • Origin: U.S.A.
  • MOST HELPFUL REVIEWS

  • We now have six of these gallon jars which we saw on Martha Stewart. They are excellent for flour, sugar, tea, cereal, et c. They are classy, clean and easy to use. They also let you know the amount remaining. We really like them. They work well when it is time to soak green tomato pickles in lime before canning.

    I recommend this product.

  • Doesn't seal air out. Has a nice wide mouth though.

  • These were hard to find, but at last we found them! We use these to store the coffee units for the Flavia machine, and its easy to use with the wide mouth and a lid that is not too heavy. When you have arthritis, these little things count. Most canisters have too narrow an opening. These are nice and big.

    I recommend this product.

  • Same item is available less expensive at Target. Also I thought it would have a freshness seal , it does not.

  • Heavy Duty

I purchased both of the glass 1 gallon cookie jars and although I prefer the other jar with the threaded lid for freshness, I find this jar more heavy duty, and if you have kids you'll find that a very redeemable quality while the extra length of freshness not as necessary as the cookies don't seem to last all that long! :)

    I recommend this product.

  • I use this to brian my meat with. glass does not hold order or taste like plastic does. Also there is only the two of us, so my cuts of most meats are small enough for this size jar and fits in my fridg real good.

    I recommend this product.
