The OXO can opener is definitely worth the money. It is a traditional can opener that works. It's big but lightweight and it's easy to turn the knob. It's much better than the can openers I've bought in grocery stores. The money I've spent over the years on grocery store can openers that don't work or are very hard to turn exceeds the cost of this can opener.

Awesome must have if you have painful hands

I do not like electric can openers but at times i have very painful hands and have trouble opening cans with a hand can opener this prodect is awesome it feels good in your hand very easy to used i like the wide turing button. But most of all it does not slip off the can and cuts the lid off the first time you use. This is a great buy for anyone not just for us with painful hands.
This is a must buy item for any kitchen

Wonderful Can Opener!

Purchased this can opener for my parents whereas they had tried numerous can openers both manual and electric with no satisfaction. This can opener was less expensive than others they had bought, but the quality was so much better. They have no trouble at all opening items now. Both parents cook, and both are extremely pleased with this OXO can opener. We would definetly buy this product again without any question. Love It!

Gave up on electric can openers a long time ago.This opener is smooth and easy to use. Requires little effort to turn the handle. For the price it's a good buy.

I've been trying to find a can opener that was easy on the hands and rreally got the can lid off with no sweat, and here it is! What a marvelous instrument! I would recommend this opener to anyone.

I have always owned the cheap-o, buy it at the big box store kind of can opener. I LOVE this one. It operates very smoothly. Even someone with arthritis would be able to use this.

I have watched Rachel Ray use this can opener on her show and thought I'd buy this. Well I'm glad I did. It is the best can opener I've used in a long time and being arthritic,it is so easy to operate.

Best Manual Opener

To me, a manual can opener is essential in the kitchen. I have a small kitchen and hate to take up valuable counter top space with an electric can opener, when a manual one does the job perfectly well. The OXO has a comfortable handle, which I appreciate more and more as I age, and a smooth, sure operation. I have one of these at home and one at work. Don't forget to pop yours into the dishwasher (or the dishpan) after use--cleanliness is part and parcel to good cooking!

Great conventional can opener

I was looking for a manual can opener that doesn't cut from the side, as I like having the lid to drain the contents of the can. This opener really fits the bill. The large handle is easy to operate and it cuts smoothly. I have noticed that it will occasionally skip if the rim of the can is slightly dented. Otherwise, a great manual opener!

I have not yet put this in the dishwasher even though the web site said you could there is nothing to indicate you can on the wrapper. It works great opening cans.

I don't like electric can openers. And I don't like the fancy hand can openers that cut along the side. This is the best regular can opener I've ever used. It works.
