Tried cooking eggs this pan and they stuck to the pan very badly.Seems like it was pitted and I sure don't remember my Mother's being like that

Being new to the world of cast iron cookware, I decided to learn by doing and bought this pan with the optimism that I would love it.......I was right! It is much safer and easier to use than a so-called "non-stick" pan. It is a new cooking tool for seasoned cook.....and speaking of seasoning, it came already to cook in. Pre-seasoning is why I bought this brand.

I received a cast Iron skillet as a wedding gift 48yrs. ago & loved it but in all the moves we've made it has been lost. Now that I have my new one I find it as great to use as the first one. What I esp. like is there is no pre-treatment needed before using.

I remember going to Nana's when I was younger and she'd pull out her cast iron skillet for breakfast. I have never been able to make eggs, bacon and hashbrown potatoes as good as hers.... until now! I have also finally made perfect fried chicken (thanks to Alton Brown's teachings and this skillet)!!
Even though this was described as pre-seasoned, I seasoned it myself too just to be on the safe side. My daughter loves when I use it to cook as she knows it's one less thing for her to wash.

Very nice pan. Good value. It had one small imperfection, a small hole on the side of the pan, but it doesn't go all the way through. I didn't want to pay for shipping it back, so I didn't exchange it. I'm sure that doesn't happen often and it doesn't affect cooking.

A blast from the past! I used to love using my mother's seasoned cast iron skillets. The heat is distributed evenly and nothing sticks and it is so easy to clean. I am totally sold on it.

I was surprised that this skillet came already seasoned. What a perk! I have never cooked very much with a cast iron skillet. Cast iron corn bread muffin pan...yes. I look forward to cooking many things in this pan.

I love cast iron. I have cast iron skillets that are 40-50 years old. The more you cook in them the better they become. I do wash mine so I have to reseason them from time to time. I love that this skillet came preseasoned. Cooks great. Would buy Lodge again. Love cooking.com too!
