I love your salad spinner. It is a great time saver for me. I wash my romaine and leafy lettuce, tear it into pieces, place them in the spinner and spin off the water. The clean and dried lettuce is stored in a container in the refrigerator - ready to use as needed. The Salad Spinner makes "preparing salads" easy.
You don't have to go out to a restaurant to get a good salad anymore! This product spins the lettuce and draws just the right amount of moisture out, put in refrigerator for and hour and it crisps the lettuce to perfection. Necessary tool for life.
Don't waste your money on any other spinner. I had a cheap one which I rarely used because it was difficult to operate and a very poor design. The design and materials of this one are very high quality. The pump action is smooth and the bowl catches all the water and is easily cleaned out. Also, it is multi-purpose since you can use the outer bowl for serving.

This is the first salad spinner I have owned. Works Great! Very easy to use and clean. Amazing product! I can also store the spun lettuce right in the spinner and it stays fresh much longer than in a regular covered bowl. I would recommend this product to all my friends that have never used one! Very pleased with product, and as usual, very pleased with Cooking.com and their service.
Every time I needed lettuce for dinner (hamburgers, salads, tacos) I always bought a new head. Well we had salad one night and 2 nights later it was hamburgers. I bought the new head of lettuce as usual, but I had stored the other lettuce in the new salad spinner. I went to go throw it out and found it to be better than the day I cut it up. What I learned is lettuce can be used more than once. I do not like to spend money but I will never regret this purchase.
This salad spinner by OXO has a nicely balanced, non-skid base which keeps it in place while spinning your greens clean with the very easy to use pump-action spinner-gadget. I like the clear "color" and everything else about it, although it was a little spendy. That being said, the one I bought for $2 new at a yard sale lasted for over 10 years! This one ought to get me to social security age, even if there isn't any money left for me when I get there! LOL www.thewildnweedykitchen.blogspot.com
My goodness!! How did I live without this pump activated salad spinner?? No more hand cranking!!! So much easier and more effective than the old spinners or paper towels (a whole roll!!) love it love it love it!! N no!! U may NOT borrow it!! HaHa!!
I wish I bought this salad spinner over the summer so I could tell you how it does with all types of lettuce but I have been using it to strain cooked pumpkin to get out the excess water from the cooking process. It worked like a charm and I was very impressed. It handled the heat of the cooked pumpkin and cleaned up nice in the dishwasher (top rack). As with all salad spinners you just have to have the storage room for when it's not in use which is why it took me so long to buy one. I am pleased with this one though and thought the price and size weren't too bad (I got it on sale though).
America's Test Kitchen actually rates this as the best which is why I bought it. Also, my mother has had one for years and raves about it. The ease of use is fabulous and I love that I can store my spun greens inside it in the fridge.
