Whether you're preparing a simple iceberg-and-tomato side salad for dinner with the family or making an elaborate main course salad, get your greens in perfect shape for any leafy dish by spinning them in the OXO 10.5-in. Good Grips Salad Spinner. This easy-to-use accessory pulls water away from your greens and dries them off before you use them, so you don't have to associate freshly washed lettuce with soggy salads anymore. Pushing the soft nonslip knob on the top sets the inner basket spinning at a speed that's fast enough to pull water droplets off lettuce leaves but not so fast that it damages your greens, and you can pump it as many times as you need to and get all of the moisture out. The see-through top makes it easy to keep an eye on your greens as they spin, and a built-in brake brings the basket to a halt when you're done, so you can pull the lettuce out and continue on with your salad preparation. The base is well balanced and has a nonskid base that keeps it securely in place while you spin your salad. You can put the entire unit into the refrigerator after spinning, so your washed greens stay fresh, crisp and ready to use whenever you are in the mood for a salad. If you're serving salad to a crowd or bringing it to the office for a potluck, you can use the outer bowl as a serving dish. The entire unit is dishwasher safe.

I love your salad spinner. It is a great time saver for me. I wash my romaine and leafy lettuce, tear it into pieces, place them in the spinner and spin off the water. The clean and dried lettuce is stored in a container in the refrigerator - ready to use as needed. The Salad Spinner makes "preparing salads" easy.
You don't have to go out to a restaurant to get a good salad anymore! This product spins the lettuce and draws just the right amount of moisture out, put in refrigerator for and hour and it crisps the lettuce to perfection. Necessary tool for life.
Don't waste your money on any other spinner. I had a cheap one which I rarely used because it was difficult to operate and a very poor design. The design and materials of this one are very high quality. The pump action is smooth and the bowl catches all the water and is easily cleaned out. Also, it is multi-purpose since you can use the outer bowl for serving.
This spinner is the best we have ever used - our fresh salads from our garden have never tasted better; or been this crisp! Though it is all plastic, it is sturdy and does an excellent job. We use ours almost daily and it withstands the abuse (I say this because - watch a 9 year old spin a salad for you). Though it says it is dishwasher safe, we would not recommend it; the high temps of the water can warp the basket. If you do place it in the dishwasher; use a lower temp water (if you can) and never use the heat to dry it. We had a close call the first day. Simply hand wash to be on the safe side; and enjoy fantastic salads!
This is much more expensive than the spinner I saw at W@l-M@rt, but it is much heavier, sturdier and bigger too, so I guess you get what you pay for. I think it is worth the money.
I don't make salads often, so I have not used it to spin lettuce yet. I opened it and used it empty to make sure it works. It was easy to pump and get spinning and it was easy to stop. It looks like it will be easy to take apart and clean.
The canister/bowl that holds the lettuce is much bigger than expected. You can spin the lettuce, then take the spinning "net" out and use the bowl as your salad bowl and storage bowl - so it has multiple uses. I think it will hold a cut up head of iceberg lettuce (or close to it). I will use this to spin my washed Rhubarb and Swiss Chard in the summer too!
I was hesitant on the price, but I think it will work well in the long run.
Like all OXO products, this is well-made and easy-to-use. The "push button" start is a vast improvement over the old "lawn mower engine" cord starter, and the non-skid bottom allows one-hand operation and the brake is an added plus.
I've had a spinner with a string crank for years. This is so much better! The spinning mechanism dips down into the bowl several inches, so the bowl can't be filled more than half way. Buts it's so quick, doing multiple rounds is not an issue.
