Excellent product. I did have a little trouble releasing the brake that holds down the pump but I'm not very mechanical.

Outstanding value purpose

Seen this item in use by Elton Brown on Good Eats. Had to have one. It was received in just two days. My salads and fruits keep much longer. Hey the wife loves it and as the saying goes "a happy wife is a happy home".

Does a great job drying all types of greens. Easy to clean. Basket is large enough to do greens for our family of three.

Preserving lettuce

I bought the salad spinner so that I could wash my lettuce when I bring it home, let it dry, and put it in the fridge. I found that the lettuce did not keep any better after using the salad spinner than it did just washing it by hand and letting it dry.

Best salad spinner ever!

I've tried at least 3 other salad spinners (some pretty pricey) in the past few years. They crack, the mechanism becomes sluggish or the darned thing is never big enough for more than 2 people. Since I've received my OXO large spinner, I use it at least 3 or 4 times a week. It's great not only for drying salads, but works wonders for getting water out of sliced potatoes before frying or making casseroles. When a recipe calls for thawed product, let it thaw, throw it in the spinner and let the H2o flow! Every day I seem to find a different use for it. OXO takes greens for a spin

Love this salad spinner as I loved the one I had before it which gave out after three years. The two of us here eat four very big salads a day. We use our spinner to death. OXO stands up and does a great job.

I am very pleased with the spinner and it's ease of use. It does a great job spin-drying leafy veggies and lettuces. There was a little black half-moon piece of foam rubber attached to the bag the spinner was in. However there were no instructions indicating what this piece of foam rubber was for.

Easy to use, and clean. Love the breaking mechanism. Due to time constraints, I pre-cut lettuce for several days and keep in plastic containers.

Spinning with the OXO spinner leaves lettuce crisp in the containers for those several days. Not spinning leaves lettuce limp within a day. Also, The 10-in. size allows me to spin large amounts of lettuce at a time.

What more can I say? A great product.

I had one in college that disappeared when I moved back to my hometown. That was 5 years ago! I wonder how I've survived making salads that long without one. It is very easy to use and clean, and it is very powerful, whisking nearly every drop of water off the salad. I even put carrot and bell pepper slices in it when I spin, and it works perfectly!

I bought this salad spinner so that my lettuce can be washed and ready to eat when I want it. The lettuce lasts longer when all the water is removed prior to refrigeration. It is an item that works for me and I'm glad to have it.

You spin me right round baby!

I love it! My girlfriends have been on me to get one of these for some time. (I guess they got tired of washing and drying greens by hand when we cook at my house...) I finally broke down and got one. I don't know what I did before I had this! (Oh, that's right. I made my friends do the work...) It's big enough to spin for a crowd but doesn't take up too much space in my kitchen. The clear bowl is also a great for serving and saving. (READ: One less dish to wash.) Love it! Get one!

OXO Salad Spinner

Like all OXO products, this is well-made and easy-to-use. The "push button" start is a vast improvement over the old "lawn mower engine" cord starter, and the non-skid bottom allows one-hand operation and the brake is an added plus.

I had a salad spinner a few years ago from a kitchenware home-show provider - this one is SO much better.

This is the best product. So easy to use, great for arthritic hands!

Holds a lot. Big bowl can be difficult to store if you are short on cabinet space.

Spinning up a storm

This is the best salad spinner I've ever used. I've just bought my second one (my husband submerged the top of the last one, so it rusted and squeaked!), and also bought one for my mom. It's sturdy, easy to operate, and moves smoothly.
