I wanted a well-built coffee maker that's easy to program, well-built, and makes great coffee from whole beans. This model fulfills all of those characteristics, while offering excellent flexibility in grind size, coffee strength, and quantity. The parts are nicely engineered and assembled and feel rugged.
The grinder is quieter than many comparable burr grind and brew machines and probably quieter than every blade grind and brew machine available. Unlink many other models, this one doesn't make a mess, nor is it difficult to clean the insides.
The only thing I'd improve is the water filter mechanism. Sometimes adding water to the tank causes the charcoal filter to float out of it's holder at the bottom of the tank. A heavier carrier for the filter or a tighter fit would likely solve the problem.
For some reason I've been hesitant to purchase this brand of product, but ZOMG was I ever wrong! Not only is this machine a breeze to program and clean, it makes the best coffee I've ever had from a home brewer, period ... the end! I'm a bit of a coffee snob and I've tried every major brand from Bunn to you-name-it. I typically buy a new machine 2 or 3 times per year, in search of that perfect cup. Well my search is over. The setting selections on this machine are REAL. If you set it to a light brew, you get a light brew. If you set it to a dark brew, you get a dark brew. I've never seen a machine that you can truly see a difference in the end product by changing the settings. I've had no issue with the grinder or delivery chute clogging and I live in a very humid island climate. I send my thanks to others who reviewed this product ahead of me, because you are the ones who convinced me to buy it. For those of you searching for that perfect home grinder/brewer, this is it!!! Buy one and be happy.

Yes | No Report Violation »Like other reviewers, I bought this to replace a Cuisinart Grind and Brew that began to leak mysteriously after about 18 months of use (spread over 3 years because that is a second home). That is a much less expensive machine, especially when it is on sale. And we were happy with it until the leak problem developed. Internet searches revealed that this leaking problem with the Cuisinart is common.
In our primary residence, we have had an earlier model of the Capresso machine for many years, So, I decided to go with the much more expensive Capresso this time -- as likely to be less expensive in the long run. However, I was surprised at how big it is -- seems to take more space than the older one and at how much coffee it uses with the default settings -- much more than the older machine. Presumably we can adjust it to use less coffee but we have not gotten around to that.
Other issues -- instructions tell you to unplug it when not in use, but if you do that, you will have to reset the clock before being able to make coffee -- one of the most irritating features of many current appliances. With the metal filter, more gunk than we like makes it into the coffee, so we have taken to putting paper filters inside the metal ones.
I absolutely recommend buying this coffee maker. We have had previous Capresso coffee makers that grind the coffee and brew in one step. Over time the mechanism has been improved and the coffee tastes perfect. Highly recommend.

So, we got the new TEAM GS and love it. It works even better than our last machine. Easy to use and we are keeping our fingers crossed it last equally as long.

The first coffee maker I got would brew coffee but not grind beans. The second one was so noisy, not grinding the beans, but brewing the coffee and the amount of venting was not working for my new cupboards. I purchased a different brand for alot less money and am happy with it. Again I had great customer service from Cooking.com the product did not meet my stardards.

If you are concerned that this coffeemaker is pricier than others, consider the cost of buying a separate high quality burr grinder and you will realize that this is a pretty good deal to get as a combo.
We had a Cuisinart combo coffee maker and the grinder in it was not great and impossible to keep moisture away from. This is a very different level of quality.
Everyone we know who owns Capresso coffee maker has been pleased with it and with our new coffee maker I can see why.
I've tried all the home grinder/brewer combinations in this category and this one is the best by a wide margin. Cuisinart is cr*p, noisy and requires constant maintenance. The Jura-Capresso is exceptionally quiet when grinding, brews a quick pot and keeps it hot. I have tried the thermal carafe versions, I don't like them primarily because you have to preheat the carafe with hot water and the coffee just isn't hot enough. This one keeps it hot and if you dispose of the grounds immediately after brewing, you don't get that bitter oil taste in your coffee. This is actually my second CoffeeTEAM GS. The first one's grinder finally died after a year and a half of trouble-free daily use.

CoffeeTEAM GS Coffee Maker and Grinder Combo by Jura-Capresso is by far the best Coffe Maker and Grinder combo on the market. I purchased the GS to replace my 11 year old Capress Coffe Maker and grinder. The GS has most of the same features as the older model except it has been refined to for any upscale kitchen and the coffee seems much hotter than the older model making for a better cup of coffee. It is easy to clean and operate. If it was a 12 cup pot it would be the ultimate Coffee Maker and Grinder Combo available and a very good price..
Very pleased with this coffee maker/grinder. The coffee smells great from the first moment it starts brewing. I bought some french roast and have been enjoying it nearly every day! I do think that the price is a little high but: it's easy to set up and operate, I don't have to buy filters, and the coffee is really, really good!

Yes | No Report Violation »For the last couple of years I'd been using a Cuisinart Grind & Brew, and I liked it, but it began to leak water after about 18 months, and then it just died. I bought the Jura-Capresso CoffeeTEAM to replace it. What a difference! Far fewer parts to fuss with, less grinder mess, faster from start to finish, and, more importantly, much, much better coffee. You can adjust the grind, adjust for the number of cups, program it to start automatically (the instructions say to allow 15 minutes for a full pot, but really it'll be ready in closer to 10), sneak a cup while it's brewing. I find myself using a little less coffee, too, than I did with the Cuisinart, because the Jura-Capresso is just more efficient. If I have a quibble, it's that I wish it came with a thermal carafe option, and a water-level indicator on the outside. Other than those minor things, this is indeed the best coffeemaker I've ever had.

It made the most wonderful tasting coffee either with the grinder or already ground till it finally died. So my husband bought a Keurig coffee makder/grinder combo thinking that machine would make the same wonderful tastingcoffee as the Capressa, boy were we wrong. The Keruig's coffee tasted lousy and only lasted 6 months. So when that broke (amen) I couldn't wait to buy a Capressa Coffee Maker/Grinder again so I got online and ordered this Coffee Team GS Coffee Maker/Grinder Combo, best investment ever. It is the best investment ever and makes the most tasting coffee ever. Never will never invest in another brand again.
