  • I grew up using cast iron skillets and absolutely love them. This skillet is a good size and heats evenly. I purchased a 12 inch skillet at the same time but it was too large for the burner and didn't heat all the way to the edge of the pan. Sure wish they made an 11 inch pan.

    I recommend this product.

  • Old fashion cast iron pan

I grew up with my grandmother and aunt using a pan exactly like this to fry and bake in. I have been looking for a pan just like this for over 20 years. The other pans that say they are a cast iron pan, aren't like the old ones as they are light as a feather and are coated with cast iron. This one is really a cast iron pan. Be careful when you pick it up as it is somewhat heavy. Don't be afraid of this, it is the way it should be. I have carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrist and I can still lift the pan. This is a pan that I will have for a long time. I also like that it comes preseasoned which takes away the work of having to do it yourself. This pan is easy to clean and follow the instruction not to put it in the dishwasher. You will have to reseason it yourself (this isn't hard but why make extra work for yourself).

    I recommend this product.

For the price, this is an exceptional pan. I have a larger one like this and it works well with what I make i.e. top-stove and oven baking in the same pan. Absolutely great!

  • not a flat bottom

I am disappointed in this pan. While it is heavy and seems well made, the bottom is not flat. So oil runs to the edge and it rocks on our ceramic top range. I'd not buy one again.

  • Finish quality.

The finish on the inside of the pan is as rough as the finish on the outside. I have never seen a cast iron skillet that has this. I don't know if I am suppose to grind the surface down until it is smooth, or what. I wish someone would tell me one way or the other.

  • Fry Pan 10-in

Wonderful skillet, nothing like cast iron and looks good on my stove. Cast iron pan is a must have for your kitchen. This pan is mostly already seasoned you just have to do a little more that is so easy to do. The pan is grey when you received but after simple seasoning it turns black which is an attractive color for the kitchen. This is my second one, first one is 12-in. this one is 10-in, next will be be a smaller one.

    I recommend this product.

  • surface sticks

I believed this pan was supposed to be seasoned already but when I used it I did chicken with breading in it and they just stuck to the pan and pulled all the breading off. I really like cast iron skillets but I hope the next time I use this I can cook without it sticking.

  • so glad to hear from you! upon receipt i reseasoned the cast iron skillet. not being familure with cast iron skillets i did a research on cooking and the care of it. however; i have a "thumb" print on the 'floor' of the skillet, off center. each time i have used it, food sticks in this area. when i have completed using the skillet, i wash it in water using a sponge. i than wipe it with paper towels. reseason with extra virgin olive oil, place it on the hot burner, remove the excesses oil. food still sticks to the skillet!!!!

This is easy care, even heat and has so many uses. I have a lot of Emerils cookware and knew I would not go wrong in ordering this pan. I plan on purchasing another piece in the near future

  • Evaluation of the Cast Iron 10" Fry Pan

I am happy to have finally found the pan I have been looking for for quite some time. Just one thing that makes it not quite ideal for me (an 86-year old petite woman) is it's tremendous weight! I can hardly lift it from storage to stove top to sink! Other than that, it's great!

    I recommend this product.

  • Pre-Seasoned

I was absolutely thrilled to see that the cast iron fry pan was already "seasoned", saving me so much time and effort!! A previously bought cast iron pan (not from food network) came "unseasoned" and ended up rusting during the process of seasoning it. As I said, I was thrilled with the pan (and I still am!)

    I recommend this product.
