I usually cook in a cast iron frying pan, but there are times when it is nice to have a small, non-stick pan. I had a few old pans that I "inherited", but they were scratched and thin-bottomed. This Cuisanrt pan is very nice, with a thick bottom and good weight. THe non-stick surface seems very robust, and so far, I am delighted.

The Cuisinart line of cookware doesn't disappoint -- well made, nicely balanced and easy to take care of.

A terrific nonstick skillet. The sloped sided design is great especially when sauteing vegies. It heats very quickly and evenly. Foods really release quickly and slide off the pan! The handle is long, solid and stays cool. It lives up to its description. Since receiving I've used this pan just about every day. A definite indispensible piece of cookware and a very good value.

I bought this pan on the recommendation of America's Test Kitchen, as a gift for my sister. She really loves it. She said the size is perfect. She likes the fact that it's lighter than her 12 inch skillet, and it heats the food very evenly. Who knew I could get so much mileage of good will from a simple skillet. If I needed another 10 incher, I'd definitely get one for myself!

Cuisinart 10 In Skillet

by George, PA
October 25, 2007

We were no strangers to the brand nor the product--we bought a cooking ware set (made in China) that lacked an 8 in skillet and we bought a Cuisinart as it came closest to matching the other pots and skillets in the set. The 10 in Chinese skillet wore out quickly and reuqired replacement. Cuisinart to the rescue! The 8 in skillet we got 4 years ago is still almost like new and we anticipate this piece will perform similarly.

A must have omelet pan!

I supplemented my cookware set with this pan specifically for cooking eggs. It is the only nonstick pan I have but I love using it. So easy to clean!

I already have this same size skillet by Cuisinart but wanted another one. There are times when 2 skillets are needed. I have never been disappointed with the Cuisinart oproducts.

Crackles and pings

by Betty, WA
September 13, 2009

I had to return the first 10" Cuisinart nonstick skillet I received because it made continuous crackling and pinging noises even though it was never heated higher than medium and was usually kept in the medium-low range. The replacement, which I kept, performs better regarding noise, though once when my husband inadvertently turned the heat a little higher than medium, it started pinging. This could be considered an early warning system -- since these days it's considered unsafe to use nonstick skillets at high heat -- but only if turning down the heat results in cessation of noise. This worked in one case, but not the other. Cooking.com was very good about the replacement, by the way.

The pan is great with a nice, smooth finish--plus, it's dishwasher safe and can go to 500 degrees in the oven--it cleans up really nice. However, the finishing on the handles could be better. I bought 3 different sizes, and all the handles had problems--two had rough finishing to the hole in the handle and the other had a pock mark in the finish. It wasn't so bad I'd return them, and the price on the pans was great, but it was disappointing--I haven't had this with other Cuisinart pans I own.

I have a number of Cuisinart pieces and am very pleased overall. One former issue with the smaller frying pans was the tendecy to tilt when preheating empty due to the handle being too heavy. This newer style doesn't have that problem.

After not having any non-stick cookware for many years because the coating always wore off and (I fear) flaked into my food and then me and my family, I hope I will not have to same problem with this cook wear. It is nice to not have to use a lot of oil to cook.

Another Great Recommendation

by Teresa, CA
July 21, 2007

This skillet received great reviews from AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN and I can see why. I've never been successful at making omelets, but with this nonstick skillet, I've been turning out picture-perfect ones every time. It's a great size for almost anything I've made and it's easy to clean. Just remember to use the right utensil so you don't scratch the nonstick surface.

Work's for me!

by R Eileen, OR

I came to trust this brand years ago with other cookware. In need of a higher quality pan, yet reuctant to bow to an over-the-top price, I know I made the right choice the first time I used them. These pans will permanently replace what is now in my cupboard. The fabulous heat conduction uses less energy too.

Quality

by charles, VA

10-in skillets are the perfect size for a lot of recipes but 10-in skillets are difficult to find without ordering a set. So, I paid a little more for this than what would be expected. In return, this skillet is light weight which is not what I expected. As such, and appears to be of mediocre quality. We'll see.
