Wusthof's newest state of the art technology incorporates a new computer controlled method for putting the edge on Classic knives. This technology allows for an exacting edge from the tip of the knife down to the heel of the knife. With this newer precision, the knives are made sharper to 14 degrees per side for a total of 28 degrees. The knives are now sharper and this refinement increases the sharpness retention because exacting angles and edges last longer than edges sharpened by hand. The result is a knife that is 30% sharper and the ICP (Initial Cutting Performance) lasts twice as long.

I love this knife! I have smaller bread knife from Wusthof and always wanted a 10" one. This one slices any thickness of bread like it's no one's business! Because the blade is taller/thicker than the smaller 7" bread knife, it's so much easier to control which angle the knife is entering the bread.

I have been looking for a good quality serrated knife that was long enough to cut cake layers as I bake a lot. This one is perfect, slides through layers of cake like butter! It's also great for rustic bread with hard crusts you can cut them them thin if desired because the knife cuts so well. I am super happy with this knife and have several other wusthof knives which are performing well.

This is one of thenleastnavailable product by Wusstoff and one of their best. It truely iis a wonderful slicer for almost anything. We would not be witihout one.

I would prefer a heavier feel, but this is a good slicer knife - great for bread and especially good for cutting a cake in half laterally.
