When they moved their production to China, the thickness and quality of finish went down. This is a mere shadow of its former self.
The various and sundry Chinese factories they have contracted this out to are cutting corners for increased profit.
It is Calphalon in name only.

I love to make crepes...with this pan, I didnt have to use anything inside but the batter, no spray or oil, no butter, nothing! When it was time to flip it was effortless. Perfect, lightly browned crepes. My Grandmother had these special old cast iron pans she used for crepes, she would have thrown them out for one of these. And of course, with Calphalon, clean up is a soapy sponge, a few wipes and you are done. Beautiful weight to the pan. I cant say enough good things about this pan. The best thing though....the price. I almost felt guilty at the low price I got it for, I said almost. I love a bargain! This is my 8th or so peice of Calphalon and I am still as impressed as the first time I cooked with a Calphalon pan. For sure the best cookware out there.

This was a replacement for the same pan but a older model. My aunt had given it to me years ago and it soon became one of my most used pans. I never made a crepe in it but it was perfect for many breakfast meals. When the Teflon finish on the old pan began to peal, I stopped using it but couldn't bring myself to throw it away. I'm on your email list since I bought a pan a couple of years ago. So, when I saw the Crepe pan on sale before Christmas, I bought it and when our granddaughter saw it, she fell in love with it too. I bought one for her and she is thrilled and will be a Calphalon customer like me. Ordering it was easy and the delivery was quick. When I called your customer service, the agents were absolutely wonderful. Thank you for employing such helpful people -men and women. Both were great. PS I'm finding that I am using this pan much more than just for breakfast.
This pan cooks nicely without sticking and cleans up easily. I have only used it a few times so far, but I assume it will hold up because it is good quality and a nice weight. The handle doesn't get too hot, which is one thing I worried about. Love the flat bottom because you have almost the full 10 inches to use for any kind of browning or sauteing where you don't need high sides for liquid. Got it on sale with free shipping so the price was right.
I have an older one of these and my granddaughter kept borrowing my pan. I use it to cook eggs, both fried and scrambles. She liked the eggs I cooked and learned to cook the also. It is super for that purpose as well as mini pancakes. It is an excellent product.
I love my Calphalon Commercial Nonstick. Unfortunately they are not available any longer, but this was still available new in August 2012. It is as good (works and looks great) as my other Calphalon Commercial Nonstick cookware. I wish I could persuade Calphalon to bring back the Commercial Nonstick line.
I own All Clad but I think, from my usage, that Calphalon is a better product. This griddle, compared to All Clad, heats faster and more evenly. The non-stick surface releases quickly and there is no need to use a lubricate on the non-stick surface. Good stuff! Plan on getting rid of the All Clad and building a kitchen around Calphalon.
Just ordered my second one of these. The first one lasted about 5 yrs - pretty good for a daily-use nonstick.
This is a perfect pan for eggs. Its nonstick coating is of high quality, and because it's a 10" pan, it's pretty lightweight and easy to handle.
It's not for making sauces and such, because the edges are very shallow.
Great for what it does - and at $35, it's a major bargain, having retailed for $85 and still being sold all around the internet for $65-80 (as of summer 2012).
If this fits your needs, it's a no-brainer.
I was looking for a replacement crepe pan since my old one had lost it's non-stick coating, and this was perfect! It's a great pan for cooking up a couple of eggs omelet style, crepes, or making a grilled cheese. Great purchase!
