Great Egg Poacher!

I was very happy to find a stainless steel egg poacher with stainless steel egg cups. The poacher does a great job and the poached eggs turn out just the way we like them! I spray the egg cups with a little bit of Pam and sometimes add a little margarine or butter (for flavor) before adding the eggs to the cups. In fact, egg whites can be poached in the cups (without the egg yolks) if egg yolks are not permitted in your diet. I would recommend this product!

I really like it very much. The see through cover lets you view how the eggs are cooking and it only takes abou 4 minutes for them to cook. They come out perfect. I had been looking for a good egg poacher for quite a long time and my son ordered this one for my birthday. I told my daughter in Albuquerque how much I like it and am sure she will be ordering one too.

THe only change that I'd like to see is an even # of egg cups.

not a good egg poacher; egg pans too deep

I was excited based on all the positive reviews, but I'll probably end up throwing this one away. The little egg pans are too deep. You have two choices on how the eggs turn out: (1) runny yolks but the whites around the yolks aren't cooked all the way through or (2) hard yolks where the whites take on a rubbery texture in parts of them. Perhaps there's a 15 second window where they turn out better, but I think the flaw is in the design of the egg cup: too deep, not wide enough. A shallower egg cup would have allowed for more even cooking. We have another single egg poacher that is wider/shallower and it cooks perfect poached eggs... only problem is the one at a time thing for our family of 6.

The pan is good for sauteeing, even heat and tall sides. There are, however, a couple of small white spots on the bottom that don't wash out. The big problem is with the egg poacher aspect: the little black plastic knobs on the egg cups are ridiculous in that they are difficult to grab and lift out without getting burned by the steam, and they are difficult to hold while getting the egg out. Bad design! A child could figure out a better way! Therefore, can't recommend this although overall quality is good (but pricey!)
