One egg, two egg, how 'bout a poached egg? In minutes, this stainless steel egg holder and saute pan will gently poach up to 5 eggs, each in its own individual cup. The pan is made of stainless steel-coated aluminum and conducts heat evenly as it simmers your eggs to perfection. The lid is heat-tempered glass. Use the 10-in sauté pan separately for cooking vegetables, seafood, fritattas -- or prepare a hollandaise sauce for your poached eggs. It's a dual purpose deal for a single-pan price!

  • Material: 18/10 Stainless Steel. Cups are Stainless Steel Coated Aluminum with High Heat Nylon Knobs
  • Origin: China
  • MOST HELPFUL REVIEWS:

  • I really like it very much. The see through cover lets you view how the eggs are cooking and it only takes abou 4 minutes for them to cook. They come out perfect. I had been looking for a good egg poacher for quite a long time and my son ordered this one for my birthday. I told my daughter in Albuquerque how much I like it and am sure she will be ordering one too.

    I recommend this product.

  • Great Egg Poacher!

I was very happy to find a stainless steel egg poacher with stainless steel egg cups. The poacher does a great job and the poached eggs turn out just the way we like them! I spray the egg cups with a little bit of Pam and sometimes add a little margarine or butter (for flavor) before adding the eggs to the cups. In fact, egg whites can be poached in the cups (without the egg yolks) if egg yolks are not permitted in your diet. I would recommend this product!

  • The pan is good for sauteeing, even heat and tall sides. There are, however, a couple of small white spots on the bottom that don't wash out. The big problem is with the egg poacher aspect: the little black plastic knobs on the egg cups are ridiculous in that they are difficult to grab and lift out without getting burned by the steam, and they are difficult to hold while getting the egg out. Bad design! A child could figure out a better way! Therefore, can't recommend this although overall quality is good (but pricey!)

  • Love my poacher !

Just received my egg poacher and it is just as I remembered as a young girl! Quick perfectly cooked eggs. This poacher is stainless steel-no chemicals leaking into my eggs from a non-stick variety. It holds five eggs-which is perfect for my family-and cleans up quickly. Thanks for a wonderful pan!

  • Egg Poacher Review by Rawn

I really like this egg poacher, and it is well designed. The inserts can be removed and cleaned easily and the poacher cups are also easy to clean. The pan it comes in is 10 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches deep. The handle is easy to grasp and is not rivited to the main pan, but appears to be very sturdy. The lid is a 10 inch diameter glass with a metal sealer ring and a round top handle that is easy to grip. The pan and lid, without the inserts, can be used for cooking other dishes and is also easy to clean.
When poaching eggs you have to use butter or spray in the cups, so the eggs will release easily.
I found it was easy to over cook the eggs unless you test it to find out how you like your eggs and time it. They cook very rapidy in this poacher.
My poacher is a the 5 cup model and there is a smaller 4 cup model. I would recommend it to
anyone as it is great for a family or individual. You can fill only the number of cups with eggs that you are going to use at the time. Also the price for the Egg Poacher was very good for the quality of the item. Only one caution is that when the eggs
are done and you remove the glass lid, the steam is very hot. Removing the egg cups also allows the steam from the bottom to escape. So you must protect you hand and arm if you are prone to being burned by sudden steam escaping. Leave all the egg cup in the poacher even if they are empty. Otherwise is is a good buy for any one.

    I recommend this product.

  • My gift

I purchased the egg poacher for my daughter. It was the only one I could find with metal cups and not those black cups. I had bought the same kind for her several years ago but it was lost in a recent move, and she wanted the same kind because she had melted a black cup on the last one that she had. It took me a while on line to find the product that I wanted. Personally I would prefer a smaller one with 4 cups but I never found one.

    I recommend this product.

  • I have been searching for a good egg poacher for years and am delighted to find this one by Norpro. I tried a poacher with plastic cups which gave the eggs a decidedly plastic taste, and I returned it. This poacher leaves no taste in the eggs and is very easy to use. I spray the cups with Pam, and the eggs slip right out of the cups. Love having 5 cups. No drawbacks to this product!

  • the perfect egg poacher

evenly cooks eggs to perfection in exactly four minutes after water reaches boiling point. Mandatory that the egg cups are well-coated with butter (oil, margarines do not work nearly as well) to ensure that egg slips out without breaking or sticking.

  • Great product!

I would highly recommend this product to anyone that doesn't enjoy eating specks of teflon with their poached eggs:) Just a spray of oil into each cup prevents the eggs from sticking. Eggs cook fast, just don't forget to spray the cups or you will need steel wool to get the stuck on egg cleaned off.

  • Great Egg Poacher

I was happy to find a stainless steel egg poacher without no-stick coating. I lubricated the egg cups with olive oil and they didn't stick at all. Eggs come out great. The glass lid gives a clear view of the eggs as they cook. The pan is heavy enough to use for cooking other than egg poaching so it's not just a single purpose tool.

  • It's very hard to find an egg poacher without nonstick coatings, so I was happy to find this one. No problems with sticking at all if you use a little butter, spray, or oil in the egg cups--they slide right out. Good, even cooking and perfect poached eggs every time.

  • not a good egg poacher; egg pans too deep

I was excited based on all the positive reviews, but I'll probably end up throwing this one away. The little egg pans are too deep. You have two choices on how the eggs turn out: (1) runny yolks but the whites around the yolks aren't cooked all the way through or (2) hard yolks where the whites take on a rubbery texture in parts of them. Perhaps there's a 15 second window where they turn out better, but I think the flaw is in the design of the egg cup: too deep, not wide enough. A shallower egg cup would have allowed for more even cooking. We have another single egg poacher that is wider/shallower and it cooks perfect poached eggs... only problem is the one at a time thing for our family of 6.

  • What a pleasure and a plus!

I use this stainless poacher 5 or 6 times a week for breakfast. Therefore, it stays out on my stovetop and I only clean the pan once a week. A light coat of goat butter works best to keep the eggs from sticking. I've tried olive oil and cow butter, but goat butter does it best. It's a lot less butter than I would use for eggs in a skillet.

After some use, you might see some light spotting or discoloration developing at the bottom of the pan. That can be cleaned up by scrubbing with Bon Ami and a bristled brush (not a heavy duty scrub pad). Warning: after poaching don't drop the steaming hot cups into cold dishwater, or the little thermoplastic handles might crack from the extreme temperature change. If I didn't use this daily, it would be a little cumbersome to store with so many loose parts. Sometimes I wish I could hang the whole contraption up on a pot rack, but that would require duct tape or something. Other than those minor disappointments, this a great product. Have had this for about a year and a half now, and bought another one last year as a gift for a friend who admired it.
