Making the perfect pie crust requires cold high-quality butter, a mountain of soft, sifted flour, and this RSVP International 10-inch Marble Rolling Pin. While at first glance it may seem like rolling pins are all alike, anyone who has struggled to thin out dough and watched the pastry rip, tear or get overly soft and unmanageable knows that there are features, like the ones on this RSVP International model, that place some rolling pins on a pedestal head and shoulders above the others. This rolling pin is made from marble, a heat-resistant material that stays cool and keeps your dough from getting heated and overworked. This saves you from having to rechill as you roll and creates crusts that are flaky and fork tender. Marble also resists sticking, so dough stays on the counter instead of wrapping around your pin. The roller has nylon bearings to promote smooth rolling action, which in turn helps create dough that is consistent in thickness to prevent thin spots from burning and thick spots from coming out raw. The impressive 10-inch length and heavy-duty weight of this rolling pin does a lot of the work for you, saving you time and energy. The RSVP International Rolling Pin features durable hardwood handles for a comfortable grip no matter how many pies or pizzas you have planned.
Best Used For:
The RSVP International 10-inch Marble Rolling Pin is great for rolling out dough for your pies, pizza and cookies. This model will help you achieve the desired thickness with ease while maintaining cool temperatures and resisting sticking.
I had a very expensive marble rolling pin, and dropped it and it unfortunatley broke. I went to cooking.com and found this one for so cheap, I was shocked. This rolling pin is great and is just as good as my professional one I had before. I highly reccommend this for any baking or when making pasta. It's a great addition to any kitchen!
This rolling pin will work for its purpose. First one had a gouge and some chipping around edges. Cooking.com sent a replacement very quickly. Marble is polished, but not to a high shine smoothness. Quality is ok, but nothing like my grandmother's.
I recently decided I need to master pastry-making, and made an investment in this pastry rolling pin. What a difference this makes! The weight of the pin allows me to roll out dough in half the time, and the ability to chill it makes the process much less messy. I hadn't realized it came with its own tray, but the oak handles and tray are beautiful enough to leave out on the counter if you want. Great kitchen tool!
You have to have this rolling pin to go with the matching pastry board. It's attractive, heavy and pastry remains at an optimum temperature and doesn't stick to this rolling pin. I'm very happy because I've been able to make light, thin pastry and crusts for my pies.
