The two locking handles can be extended to straddle the sink for easy draining and rinsing of vegetables and fruits. Rubber feet keep the draining basket in place. The colander needs support strips on the bottom that would keep it from rolling over when it is not over-the-sink.

I only have a single sink in the kitchen, so by the time dinner is almost done (and my pasta needs to be drained) my sink is rarely completely clean. I don't like the hot water splashing from a dirty sink back onto the pasta. So this colander pleases me since it keeps the food several inches above the sink surface. I like it. I wish it was a bit more sturdily constructed, but is has not failed me.

I found this product great for rinsing pasta, fruits and vegetables, and it was very handy and very easy to use. It was not so great for straining ground beef because some of the beef became caught under the rim of the product, but otherwise, I really like this product.
