    Really Does Work!

    by Pamela, NY
    January 9, 2009

I included this when I ordered some other things thinking I might get some use out of it. What a surprise for me because it works exactly like it says and I use it often. Makes enough pasta for one, two or more. You wouldn't use it for a large group but that's not the purpose. The directions are easy and accurate. Works great for pasta salad too. Takes more time to hardboil eggs for the salad than make the pasta. I made corkscrew and elbow pasta too and it cooked perfectly. One suggestion I have is about adding salt to the water because the directions don't include it. I add salt when the directions say to stir the pasta once during the cooking time. Probably you could put the salt in the water before you start the cooking process. Easy to clean...just put it in the dishwasher.

    pasta

So far so good. I hated waiting for the water to boil, adding the pasta, then trying to drain the water without spilling hot water on myself. This works perfectly, just as advertisted. Every piece of the pasta was cooked correctly without any sticking together.

I bought this on a whim as i was ordering something else and did not expect to be won over. But I have to say, it is a pretty handy gadget. I love that I am using less water and one less dish, and I can easily make pasta for two in no time at all. I was one of those people who thought cooking pasta in a pot of water was as easy as cooking gets, but this is even easier! Saves time, water, and clean-up.

I tried this with Gluten free pasta. No matter what length of time for cooking selected, the pasta turned to mush.

This is a very handy device for cooking pasta. It's both quick and efficient and makes for easy clean up. Also, by cooking pasta in the microwave, it frees up extra space on the stove top while cooking the pasta sauce. There is no difference in flavor from cooking in the microwave, it's much quicker and you can strain the pasta from the cooker, which is easier than straining it with a colander. I would highly recommend this product if you like pasta!

    So Easy!

    by Beverly, WI

I ordered the Fasta Pasta cooker thinking I might be throwing money away on it, but decided to give it a try since it was not very expensive. I have used it three times and look forward to using it much more frequently. We are trying to monitor our portions as part of our efforts to be healthier. The Fasta Pasta makes it so easy to measure out spaghetti or other long pastas. I made linguine in it, and also have made spirals and bow-ties. It is very easy to measure the pasta into the Fasta Pasta cooker and fill with water to the designated level. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Each time the pasta has come out cooked to perfection. It works so well because we are a household of two; I am not sure it is large enough for a larger family. But for one or two people this is a great addition to the kitchen. I much prefer to pop it in the microwave than to get out a big, heavy pot and fill it with water, wait for the boil, etc. Plus, cleanup is a breeze. So yes, I say it was worth every bit of the cost and more. I will be buying them for friends and family as gifts.

    Easier Not Always Better

    by marci, NJ
    February 5, 2010

Much easier and quicker than boiling a pot of water but the consistency of the pasta is not terrific. It makes little difference when the pasta is used in a casserole but when used as a main dish it's a bit pastey in taste and texture

    Pasta Cooker

Easier to boil pasta in a pot. To get enough water to cook for 2 (using the lid gauge) the water boils over and the pasta does not cook well. Used it once and now it goes to Salvation Army.

Works well although pasta tends to swell larger than with conventional boiling method.

    Not So Fasta for Pasta

    by carol, FL
    February 3, 2010

I think my main problem is with the directions, or should I say lack of good directions for use of the pasta maker.  I brought one for myself and two for friends.  None of us have used them because the product lacks good directions.  I would not recomend this product, although the product itself maybe wonderful but unable to figure out how to measure the pasta for use.

    July 31, 2010

The Fasta Pasta has made my quick pasta cooking much easier! I do my children's mac & cheese in it & I love the fact that I can mix the rest of the ingredients in here too....no more boiling water & dirty pot OR dirty strainer to clean. Very nice product!

sturdy construction. basically good product, however, if a full pound of noodles are used, they get stuck together at the bottom. i stirred them the next time about half way through the cooking process and it was fine.

The Pasta Cooker is wonderful. Just not having to stand over the stove to wait for the water to boil then having to keep stirring the pasta makes it all worth while. I love it.
