This works great but I do wish it could do a bit large bottle. Like the large pickle jars you get from Costco. I can force it to work but it's a chore. The smaller jars this works wonders. Much better than the metal versions out on the market now. This one doesn't dent my lids which is nice.

This jar opener works, but is more difficult to use than the prior one I had. You need to be able to keep the tension on the handle, have it turned tightly to keep the band tight, and then unscrew. I have very weak hands and have some difficulty operating it. It seems well made and it just takes some patience to operate it.

I ordered this because increased arthritis makes jar opening extremely difficult. This opener works very well. I think it would be a better tool if there was some sort of locking mechanism so that one didn't need to maintain a rotational tension on the handle (to keep the belt tight) while levering open the jar. That may sound like a minor point but remember I am speaking from the viewpoint of a now less than dexterous person.
