The RSVP International 11.75-in. Endurance Jumbo Potato Ricer features a comfortable santoprene handle for extended use that doesn't wear out your hands and wrists. The purpose of a potato ricer is to process potatoes and other starchy foods for use in recipes that call for finely mashed or pureed foods. The potato ricer avoids over processing the spud, which can lead to extra glutinous recipes. Ricing potatoes by hand keeps flavors intact and improve the health of any dish, making the RSVP International potato ricer a good tool for use in preparing healthy soups or baby food recipes. The stainless steel construction holds up to the most industrious of jobs, and the large size of the ricer basket accommodates multiple types of potatoes. Pot rest extensions let you rest the device on the edge of a pot while working, further reducing the strain of manual processing while ensuring all food falls into the appropriate container. We know that multifunctional tools are essential in busy kitchens, which is why we think you'll appreciate that you can do more with this item than rice potatoes. Use the ricer as an effective miniature strainer to remove extra moisture from cooked veggies and greens before you use them in a recipe. Your casseroles, quiches and fried potatoes will be extra delicious when they aren't watered-down with unexpected moisture.

Processing potatoes for purees, soups and baby food; removing extra water from greens or sliced vegetables; specialty bread and pasta dishes

Nothing like having the fluffiest mashed potatoes on your dinner plate and ricing potatoes is the only way to go. I originally purchased the smaller potato ricer which I loved. I had been looking for one for a long time. My Mother had always used a potato ricer but as time goes by some of these "old" kitchen assets go by the wayside. I love them. Thank you for having a bigger one. I would recommend potato ricers to everyone who loves their mashed potatoes very fluffy. Thank you!!
This ricer is well made, large and works very well. Potatoes are smooth after going through the ricer.............easy to use, quickly ricing 5 lbs of potatoes! Buy this, don't go cheap............it's worth the $$.
First of all, you aren't supposed to put an entire six inch long boiled potato into the ricer unless you are an NBA Center with hands the size of planks. I read through the reviews before buying this and people were complaining about the need for hand strength. Just cut through the big ones and don't over fill the basket and you will be fine.
Just lay the potato ricer across the top of your pot -- it fits right in because there is a groove on the front that snicks into the edge of the pot. Just put in the potato and press down on the top handle.
The device works as advertised and cleans up nice in the dishwasher. You will need to use a large drawer for storage!
The ricer gives your mashed potatoes a fantastic texture. Use Yukon Golds to give it a more
I make a lot of lefse. Any ricer that can rice as many potatoes at one time and not spill out over the top, or wear out my hand has my allegiance! Because it doesn't have a removable bottom, has lots of room for potatoes, holes on the sides, a top that fits easily onto the potatoes with no mess and easy grip handles, this is a 5 star product! Compared to other ricers I've had, this one knocks them out of the park. I got it on sale, so it was an even better value!
I've been wanting to get a ricer for a long time and, when I started looking at them, there were so many to choose from. The ones I thought I wanted were getting less than stellar reviews. I actually found this one on Amazon and the reviews were great...cooking.com had a better price, though. I'm glad I did my research and bought this one because it's a lot larger than the others so you can make a lot of potatoes quickly. The pot rest extension is a great addition, too. Other reviewers have mentioned that, if you load it all the way up, it's very hard to operate. I took that advice and only loaded it about half way and I didn't have a problem (I'm a female with just average upper body strength). Even loading it just half way, we had a bowl full of mashed potatoes in a few minutes. If you're thinking about a ricer, I highly recommend this one!
This ricer will help you make smooth mashed potatoes and a nice smooth custard for sweet potato pie. I thought it would be larger than it actually is. I don't consider it "jumbo", but it's more than adequate for most recipes that require a smooth consistency.
Worked great to make applesauce. I was disappointed with the quality of the mashed potatoes. I was hoping to be able to fill the ricer with more food than I was able too. When I filled it to its capacity, it was very difficult for me to squeeze the levers together.
No more mashing or using a mixer to fix mashed potato's. Who would have thought that using a potato ricer would turn out such great mashed potato's...but since I have started using my potato ricer it has made my cooking experience that much more easier and enjoyable to do.
The best ricer I've ever used, and I've used a few. If you don't have one get this one. Heavy duty, with a little extension to rest on the pot. It will hold up for years and you'll pass it on to your kids or grand kids.
I use my ricer not only to mash potatoes but also to strain tomatoes and also to prepare eggplant for pickling. It makes all these jobs so much quicker and easier and is so easy to clean. I put it on the top rack of my dishwasher and it comes out sparkling.
This is a larger Ricer than what my Mom had. It works beautifully as long as you don't overload it. It is wonderful to have 'smooth' and creamy potatoes again. It is easy to clean and I'd purchase it again or give it as a gift.
This is a well-built, rugged piece of equipment. Which I need. When I make hash browns, I use this to squeeze all the water out. It makes for crispy hash browns very quick. But it puts a strain on the ricer. This one stands up to it.
