Flex straws dont fit. Dimensions are overall dimensions not interior (ie how big a straw you could use).

This is a handsome vintage-style straw dispenser like the ones you see on the counter at a diner in a movie. It's a sturdy glass-and-metal piece, which gives it a nice heft and great stability. Shiny chrome for style. It comes with a bunch of straws

It looks good and works well. Most people do a double-take and then say something, usually something nice, but not always. Go figure, I suppose it's not for everyone. This was not a flippant purchase, though. My wife uses flexible-bendy straws daily, and now she doesn't have to dig into the cabinets and a clumsy cardboard container to find one. Have had it for nine months now.

This was a present for my boyfriend. The only drawback with it is the length of the straws it can hold. I can't remember if the dispenser is too tall or too short, but it's one of those. I think it is too short though.
