SO easy!

I gave this knife to my husband - our master melon slicer - for Father's Day. He was tickled by it's "melon-good looks". He reported that it is very easy to cut up a watermelon - he didn't have to work too hard to get it done, he also didn't have to use our long Wusthof knife! The only downfall to this knife is that it is quite long so it doesn't fit in our kitchen drawers - we store it on top of the microwave!

Melon knife use

Perhaps when using this melon knife to slice through cantalopes or honeydew melons may be fine, but due to the easily flexibility of the knife, it was difficult to use it to cut a watermelon. I bought it as it sounded like a good idea, the knife was serrated and long.. so I thought it would work well with watermelons.. and of course it's such a neat design.. so I couldn't resist. But was disappointed when trying it on a 21# watermelon. I wish the blade was thicker and stiffer so that it would make slicing through this size watermelon would have been easier (I had to change knifes to finish the cutting). Sorry, loved the looks and the case, but the blade needed to be stiffer. thanks.

I bought one of these for myself and one to give as a gift. They are nice knives-cool design and cute to look at ,but really, I have other knives that work just as well cutting watermelon that don't come with such a pricey price tag

IT's fun to clean a watermelon!

This knife makes cleaning a watermelon fun! No more knives that are too small to cut through the melon. And, seeing the watermelon motif on the knife makes it even more fun! I saw the advertisement for this knife in a magazine at the beauty shop. I came home and checked it out on "cooking.com", and sure enough...they had it! I am going to order another one for my beautician.

Great Knife

I love my new melon knife. It really does the job, and it's so colorful and cute, it makes the table look ready for summer! And I love the matching sheath with seed-shaped holes. Fun and functional.

AMAZING! Slices through melons like butter!

We have a watermelon in the fridge from the time the first one is picked until the last one is sold. This knife just makes it easier to eat!
Perfect length. Doesn't get stuck. And slices like butter!

This knife is very, very large. It is a bit hard to handle when cutting melons. Use care.

Great Melon Knife!

I love watermelon, but it's not the easiest thing for me to cut. This knife cuts easily through the melon. It's nice and long; it goes through the whole melon when halving it, rather than having to cut it in sections. At first I thought, "Do I really need another knife" Well, it turns out that I did!

Haven't used yet, but appears well m,ade and suited to have its way with melons of all types and sizes. Got a Black Diamond watermelon in the downstairs refrig chillin' as I write this. Will see what the knife well do this weekend when grandson comes over!!!!!

I have the cantalope knife and I have been searching for the watermelon knife. I love them. They are so precise when cutting the melons and I can get just the slices I want! I bought 3 so I can give 2 as gifts! They are cute and funtional and the price is very reasonable for such a good knife.

Melon knife

Just finished cutting a small watermelon and a cantaloupe with this knife. While the length is good and facilitates the cutting process, the knife itself doesn't do any better job than my other knives did other than being longer and thus enabling me to get through the melons with a single cut.
