"I have been dreaming of having my own line of cast iron since I started my restaurant. I just adore the way it holds heat like nobody's business, and allows me to slow-cook and simmer everything from soups to stews, to hearty chili and braises. It just get better and better with time." - Paula Deen

While hoecakes get their name from the original method of cooking on the back of a shovel or hoe over an open flame, this cast iron 11-in. pan recreates the authentic flavors of this Southern treat on the stovetop. Hoecakes make great accompaniments to both savory and sweet dishes, try them with collard greens or even maple syrup!

Features include:
  • Pre-seasoned and ready to use right away - no seasoning is needed like traditional cast iron cookware.
  • Cast iron really holds in the heat, ensuring that food remains hot.
  • Sturdy handle is easy to grip.

Love...Love...Love this pan! After visiting Paula's restaurant and eating the hoecakes there; I have wanted this pan! I know you could make hoecakes on just about any smooth grill pan surface...but this pan just screams hoecakes...and if your from the South...that's important!!! Cast iron does make a difference...in the heating distribution...and believe it or not...in the taste...you just can't beat it! The pan's circumference fits perfectly over the large eye of my stove and it's weight keeps it well stabilized...plus it celebrates the hoecake with style!!!

    Good potential

I have not used this pan as of today, but I fully intend to use it fairly often. It has potential for several of the dishes I make. The only drawback, for me, on this product is the weight. Being a senior, it is almost too heavy for me. It's a 2-hander.

You just have to have the hoecake pan to make your hoecakes on. It is a substantial griddle pan and performs well on the stovetop.
