"I have been dreaming of having my own line of cast iron since I started my restaurant. I just adore the way it holds heat like nobody's business, and allows me to slow-cook and simmer everything from soups to stews, to hearty chili and braises. It just get better and better with time." - Paula Deen

While hoecakes get their name from the original method of cooking on the back of a shovel or hoe over an open flame, this cast iron 11-in. pan recreates the authentic flavors of this Southern treat on the stovetop. Hoecakes make great accompaniments to both savory and sweet dishes, try them with collard greens or even maple syrup!

Features include:
  • Pre-seasoned and ready to use right away - no seasoning is needed like traditional cast iron cookware.
  • Cast iron really holds in the heat, ensuring that food remains hot.
  • Sturdy handle is easy to grip.

I've only had this pan a couple of weeks and have used it several times already! I make buttermilk biscuits and bake them on this pan, they browned up so nicely. I have also fried hoe cakes on it. I am sure this pan will be good for a lot of different things. I have fried scrapple on it too. Cleans very easy. I love it. Jackie in Virginia

Outside - bottom edge - finish

The bottom edge of the Hoecake Pan is too rough to use on my glass stove. I have sufficient cast iron cookware to use on our BBQ so I have no use for the two pans I purchased. I was disappointed to be told than I would have to pay for the return of these items. Our senior household can't afford that.

I was very surprised to see this pan was of such high quality for the price. It makes it much easier to make hoecakes and I look forward to using my pan for many years to come.

I was so impressed with the quality of this pan for making pancakes, and other uses, too. Makes beautiful pancakes, easy clean-up. I'm sold on cast-iron cookware. Thanks for offering great products.

You just have to have the hoecake pan to make your hoecakes on. It is a substantial griddle pan and performs well on the stovetop.

    Good potential

I have not used this pan as of today, but I fully intend to use it fairly often. It has potential for several of the dishes I make. The only drawback, for me, on this product is the weight. Being a senior, it is almost too heavy for me. It's a 2-hander.
