This grill is FANTASTIC! It exceeded my expectations. I love that you can use it open or closed and that it can be used as a grill or griddle. The best part is that the plates come off for easy cleaning. I had another grill that was tough to clean so this one is great.

Good kitchen item

In the uses I've had so far, this griddler has done nicely, although I'm still learning the nuances of the grills temperature settings. It seems to need a bit less on the settings than one would think. One can always 'undercook' and add a bit more time, but set the temperature too high and it will quickly overcook food items. Temperature across the grill or griddle seems uniform, no 'hot' or 'cool' spots but I do seem to note a variance between the top element heat and bottom, but this is dealt with when I turn food over. If you're cooking pannini though you wouldn't tend to flip an item, so uniform appearance might necessitate a flip. Cleanup is easy with the unit and the removable grill/griddle plates are really nice.

This grill rocks!

I saw the ads on TV and knew we wanted to try it. We have several non-electric grill pans and although we are pleased with the cooking result, the cleanup is less than a stellar experience. We have a Circulon where things stick not only to the grooves but the circular pattern. We have a Le Creuset cast iron that needs a lot of scrubbing and you're not supposed to use soap! The same holds true for the Lodge grill that covers two burners on my cooktop.

The Griddler gets very hot and cooks very quickly and evenly. Cleanup is a snap! We haven't needed to put the grids in the dishwasher either since they are so easy to clean. I just wish there were more recipes and detailed instructions about how long to estimate cooking times and what temperatures to use.

This is the most veristal grill I have seen. It does everything from grilling meats, eggs, pancakes, to thick sandwichs.

Great product! I like that it has removable grill plates for easy clean-up. I also like that I am able to adjust the temperature for grilling and making sandwiches which is usually not the case for most of these types of appliances.

I GAVE ATHIS ITEM TO MY WIFE FOR CHRISTMAS. SHE DEARLY LOVES IT PLUS IT MAKES THE BEST GRILLED SANDWICHES WE HAVE EVER HAD. SHE IS TALKING ABOUT BUYING OR DAUGHTER ONE AS A GIFT.

I'm very happy. I bought this model because it was the only one I found that was both a pannini press and a griddle. Both funtions have been excellent. Contact grilling will take some getting used to because of the adjustments in cooking time necessary.

it's not perfect

The ease of washing the grilling plates in the dishwasher is just as advertised--a breeeze. However, one big minus is that rather than a floating hinge design where the top plate stays horizontal and the height adjusts to the thickness of the food being grilled, this machine's top plate swivels, so that it comes down over the food at an angle, and can squish the insides of a sandwich out from between the bread slices, as it slides the top slice to the back of the machine. To prevent this, you have to hold the top half in a horizontal position by hand, and since it gets too hot to touch, that means you have to remember to have a good potholder near at hand when bringing the top down. It's an annoyance.

Versatile and easy to clean

This griddle is perfect for many types of meals. My favorite thing about it is how easy it is to clean and the small amount of counter space needed.
The fact that you can take the plates off for cleaning and the off/on switch makes this a great improvement over more well-known indoor grills.

Cooking on my Cuisinart Griddler

I have used my griddler for panni's, hamburgers, grilled ham sandwiches & steak so far. I am pleased with the way everything has turned out. I miss not having a timer on the griddler and when I grilled the hamburgers & steak I really needed a drip pan under the hinged area as some of the grease dripped off on the counter-top.

I'm really pleased with the griddler. It gets hot enough to sear, is versatile enough to cook most anything I'd want on a grill or griddle, and is easy to clean. What's not to love!? I especially like that it has temperature regulators and that the grill plates are easy to remove and put back after cleaning.

Great Grill

I love this grill. I have made great panini sandwiches, salmon, and scallops so far. All have been great. The clean up is so easy. It is easily my favorite toy in my kitchen.

Like the product with one exception

I'm pretty basic in my grilling needs. Hamburgers, boneless pork chops.
Have tried the griddle once - was just fine. I've made ham and cheese sandwiches using the panini function - yum. Tried a reuben last night. I think I have to perfect my technique - sandwich was little soggy. The only complaint I have about the product is that it is difficult to clean between the grids when I grill hamburgers. I usually wash the griddle plates by hand. Haven't tried them in the dishwasher yet. The plastic tool is fine for getting large pieces of residue out of the way - not to get the grids absolutely clean, even after soaking in hot, soapy water. I really have to work to get between each grid to get the residue. I was surprised at how light the grill and griddle plates are compared to my last griddle. Overall, I like the product.

I was really excited to get this and have been dissappointed...It gets hot but the minute you put something on it Cools down very quickly...

Makes excellent panini, but if making more than 1 you need to take care of placement to assure level top and uniform performance.

Excellent for meat or fish. The sear setting is particularly useful.

Grill very good with lay flat feature quite useful. Temperature setting are suggestions only. You need to experiment to find best setting for pancakes, eggs,sausage ect.. Once you find a setting it is reasonably reproduceable.

I am really enjoying using this appliance.

Best purchase

I love this grill. I had never made paninis before, although I have made sandwiches. I had also had a grill by a famous ex boxer and hated the dang thing, it was hard to clean and everything was so dried out by the time you went to eat it, it was like eating cardboard! I love the way this grill opens all the way so it makes it easy to grill chicken, steaks, burgers, etc. I can also make pancakes on it, and my most favorite is making paninis. If you can find the right bread for what you have in mind, the ingredients to fit with that bread, they are very easy to make and the cleanup is a breeze. I wash the grills by hand, but only because I want them to last longer.

The greatest thing since sliced .....

My daughter received a Cuisinart Griddler for a wedding present over a year ago, but I hadn't seen it in action until recently. It grilled a T-bone steak to perfection and the clean up was effortless. I owned a large G____ F_____ grill, but the
grill plates were not removable which was a bother when it needed to be cleaned. As a result, I stopped using it. After seeing the Griddler in action I ordered one, and within a week the G______ F______ was sold at a yard sale!! It cooks like a dream, cleans up wonderfully, and looks great on the countertop.What more could you ask from a small appliance?

As an owner of a George Forman Grill, this Cuisinart one has a larger grilling area, cleans with ease, also double the space for griddling as it opens to use both sides, it is a wonderful grill for indoors. One downside to this grill the pannels are not on an angle for optimum draining. Overall it is a better grill.

Would really love it but.........issues

At first I fell in love with this as it cooked steaks and chicken great, but then I tried to use it as a griddle for breakfast foods. It took forever to cook! Then the light goes off and on and the temp changes so it does not cook hot enough. Then to top it off, the top plate will not come off easily anymore, it appears the latch broke or something. If all those things worked better I would highly recommend it. I am not sending it back as shipping is too expensive. I saw other product reviews with some of the same issues, but thought mine would be different - smile. I still use it, as I have had it only for a few weeks, but if I had bought it at a local store I would be returning it. Please, Cuisinart, do some quality review on this product.

I researched many of these grills and am so happy with this one. Excellent quality, it's solid and looks sleek in my kitcehn. I could not be happier with how it cooks meat (any kind - chicken, steak, porkchops, shrimp). I tried them all, even ribs. Grilling vegetables was equally pleasing. I got to control what goes on the food and how much fat I consume from the meat. The fatty drippings are separated from the meat, and you don't have to worry about clean up. The removable plates make this top notch and sets it above the others that can't. You just remove them and clean - so easy. It helps retain flavor because you can't really overcook with this grill. I love it.
