This grill is FANTASTIC! It exceeded my expectations. I love that you can use it open or closed and that it can be used as a grill or griddle. The best part is that the plates come off for easy cleaning. I had another grill that was tough to clean so this one is great.
I saw the ads on TV and knew we wanted to try it. We have several non-electric grill pans and although we are pleased with the cooking result, the cleanup is less than a stellar experience. We have a Circulon where things stick not only to the grooves but the circular pattern. We have a Le Creuset cast iron that needs a lot of scrubbing and you're not supposed to use soap! The same holds true for the Lodge grill that covers two burners on my cooktop.
The Griddler gets very hot and cooks very quickly and evenly. Cleanup is a snap! We haven't needed to put the grids in the dishwasher either since they are so easy to clean. I just wish there were more recipes and detailed instructions about how long to estimate cooking times and what temperatures to use.
In the uses I've had so far, this griddler has done nicely, although I'm still learning the nuances of the grills temperature settings. It seems to need a bit less on the settings than one would think. One can always 'undercook' and add a bit more time, but set the temperature too high and it will quickly overcook food items. Temperature across the grill or griddle seems uniform, no 'hot' or 'cool' spots but I do seem to note a variance between the top element heat and bottom, but this is dealt with when I turn food over. If you're cooking pannini though you wouldn't tend to flip an item, so uniform appearance might necessitate a flip. Cleanup is easy with the unit and the removable grill/griddle plates are really nice.

What a great griddler. It does everything; pancakes, panini, sandwiches, hamburgers, steaks and more . . . no end to what you can make on this wonderful griddler. We're going to get the extra grids to make waffles too. It's so easy to use and easy to clean, too.
We saw the ad on TV for this electric griddle and decided to order.
Out of the box, the griddler is easy and fast to set up. I read the instruction booklet and we immediately began to cook with it. We made simple grilled salmon and shrimp using the griddler.
The griddler opened up easily so that we had a very large, flat cooking surface. We used the "grill plates" to cook the salmon and shrimp. The unit heated up quickly and there wee no "cold spots" on the grill plates. The unit did a great job of quickly cooking the salmom and shrimp. The griddler left beautiful grill marks on the food and that made for great presentation.
When we were done clean-up was easy too. We simply removed the grill plates and washed them with soap and water.
We are very happy with our griddler and would recommend this Cuisinart product to anyone.
It's a very nice griddle. cooks a bit fast, so you have to watch it. cooked steaks on it the other day and they were very tender and juicy. the only down side is it is a bit small, a family of 4 would be too big to use it but 3 and under it works out well and also the drip pan is kinda useless most of the liquid comes out from the sides more then into the drip pan...all in all I am satisfied..I love that you can put the griddle in the dishwasher but there is a bit of cleanup around the griddle after use.
I recently purchased the Cuisinart Electric Griddler and I love it. I had previously owned a George Forman Grill and only used it a few times because it was such a hassle to clean. I really like the the removable griddle plates for cleaning and is much easier to use because of the the hinged lid to get more uniform heat while cooking. I also like the heat control dials with the temperature settings. Great product.
The versatility of this product with the optional cooking plates and positions make it a far cry better than the good ole Foreman Grill that I used to have. The ability to take out the plates to clean them, even in the washing machine, makes it a pleasure to use. I made the best burgers and patties ever! Look forward to using the griddler for vegetables and fish.
My husband loves this Griddler by Cuisinart. It makes great panini sandwiches, and has replaced our much larger, and bulkier, griddle that we use for making breakfasts on the weekends.
Excellent product and very well built. We highly recommend this one!
At first I fell in love with this as it cooked steaks and chicken great, but then I tried to use it as a griddle for breakfast foods. It took forever to cook! Then the light goes off and on and the temp changes so it does not cook hot enough. Then to top it off, the top plate will not come off easily anymore, it appears the latch broke or something. If all those things worked better I would highly recommend it. I am not sending it back as shipping is too expensive. I saw other product reviews with some of the same issues, but thought mine would be different - smile. I still use it, as I have had it only for a few weeks, but if I had bought it at a local store I would be returning it. Please, Cuisinart, do some quality review on this product.
Griddler is great and easy to use. It is extremely easy to clean and can be used for a wide variety of uses. My only complaint is that the heat is not even between the two sides-the bottom gets hotter than the top. That said, I still use it 4-5 times per week, so it isn't a huge factor.
We had a similar product but sold it at a garage sale because of it's limited usage and the difficulty in cleaning. The Griddler is well designed and easy to use and clean. The pop-out plates are wonderful--even crusted stuff comes right off! We've used it for several different meals and my wife raves about it every time she uses it.
I've been using Cuisinart products since 1972, when I purchased their complete line of enameled-covered, cast iron pots and pans. Those pots and pans are still like new and in use today. I went on to gradually buy their other kitchen products, and I have never been disappointed. The Electric Griddler is just what I had hoped for and will be in use in my kitchen for as long as I am able to cook. Thank you Cuisinart!
