We had a Cuisinart coffee pot for many years, which finally needed to be replaced. I thought this was the same style but when I got it I see there was a change. What I liked about the other pot was that it sat on a base which plugged into the wall and when you served coffee you were able to remove the pot without any wire attached and return it to the base where it kept warm. This pot has no separate base and you must plug it into the black area at the bottom. When you serve it you have to unplug it, and when finished plug it back in. I preferred the first method which had the flexibility for guests to refill their coffee without bothering with the plug in plug out situation. It makes good coffee, however.

Must use paper coffee filters or there will be so many grinds that it undrinkable. It is a cheap fix but a pain in the but. It does make a good cup of hot coffee. It is very costly for what you get. I am still up in the air if a made a good choice on purchase

Although I miss the fact that my old Cuisinart percolator was cordless, this one is wonderful. The only thing I wish Cuisinart would change is the perc bulb. It is plastic and should be glass. I had to replace the cover on the old one once as the bulb cracked after several years of use. If it were glass, that wouldn't have happened. Oh the tragedy of plastic. That being said, I love the fact that this is a 12 cup pot and it is stainless. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
