Coffee Pot Replacement

by Arlene, FL
December 19, 2011

We had a Cuisinart coffee pot for many years, which finally needed to be replaced. I thought this was the same style but when I got it I see there was a change. What I liked about the other pot was that it sat on a base which plugged into the wall and when you served coffee you were able to remove the pot without any wire attached and return it to the base where it kept warm. This pot has no separate base and you must plug it into the black area at the bottom. When you serve it you have to unplug it, and when finished plug it back in. I preferred the first method which had the flexibility for guests to refill their coffee without bothering with the plug in plug out situation. It makes good coffee, however.

Perk

Must use paper coffee filters or there will be so many grinds that it undrinkable. It is a cheap fix but a pain in the but. It does make a good cup of hot coffee. It is very costly for what you get. I am still up in the air if a made a good choice on purchase

Missed mine when it died.

Although I miss the fact that my old Cuisinart percolator was cordless, this one is wonderful. The only thing I wish Cuisinart would change is the perc bulb. It is plastic and should be glass. I had to replace the cover on the old one once as the bulb cracked after several years of use. If it were glass, that wouldn't have happened. Oh the tragedy of plastic. That being said, I love the fact that this is a 12 cup pot and it is stainless. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Good Coffee Pot

by Tiffiney, TN
December 16, 2009

Bought this as an extra pot to use while entertaining. Looks good for brewing and service. Makes an excellent cup of coffee, just remember to take out the basket before serving so you don't get the grinds in your cup. You can use with or without the circle filters for the percolators. I am using this more often than my Mr. Coffee pot now. Love the sound; reminds me of being at my grandmother's house when she brewed coffee.

weak & full of grinds

by Alyce, LA

First, good luck finding the right coffee grinds for this percolator. Even custom grinding the beans gives you grinds in the coffee. The percolating time is too short so you have extremely weak coffee. The reviews before I bought this product were all positive. Those must have been written by the Cuisinart people. The coffee is extemely hot but terribly weak no matter how many grinds you use. I did find filters made specificlally for percolators on internet and have yet to receive them; hopefully, this will make a difference. I'm so disappointed thus far.

Classic Percolator

by Michael, IN
April 27, 2009

This coffeemaker is really attractive on my countertop and it makes a great cup of coffee. Having been a percolator user for many, many years, my only negative comment is that it is noticeably noisier than most percolators. Not that big a deal though and it's kind of nice to hear the coffee perk. My family enjoys it and the coffee.

percolator is fast, quiet, looks good. Only thing that I don't like is the coffee grinds escape the coffee basket. Can't finish last cup, full of grinds.

I really have enjoyed this pot. We are big coffee drinkers and it took less than a week to season the pot. It makes some great coffee and stays hot!

Superior coffee product from my older Mr. Coffee, and my former Sunbeam programmable. No leaks, no overflows, and very, very easy to clean. Love this!

I find that the brewing time is fine, but the metal taste from the percolator leaves much to be desired. I prefer the Farberware percolator, because there is no after taste.
