This product leaks. It continues to drip when you remove the pot which it's not supposed to do and, today, half spilled onto my counter even with the pot still there. The coffee it makes is okay.

the coffee was weak, but when whe added more coffee it just tasted bitter. I assume this is because there is no control over how long the coffee is ground. Also, the bean basket is small so that if you should decide that you want to make 12 cups, and add more coffee than recommended, you cannot because the beans will overflow.

Makes good coffee but the instruction manual is not well written and the grinder portion is messy to cleanup. Manual should tell you that all lids and compartments need to be closed before it can be programmed.

This coffee maker is by far the best. I first used it at my brother's house and fell in love with it. I came home and ordered right away. The automatic shut off, program brew time, the grind and brew in one. That is no more grinding coffee and then putting in coffee maker. So by far less cleaning up. This is definitely the best coffee maker ever.

This is a great product. If I could say one thing not-so-positive about this product would be the instructions. After you have set the coffee maker to be brewed at a certain time of the day and you press the Program button again to turn it on without coffee or water in the coffee maker, it will keep beeping at you forever. I must be the only silly person to have experienced it, but for people considering about buying, here's a tip. But again, the product itself is wonderful. Needless to say, it makes great coffee.

Coffee grinder portion of the coffee maker

    by Sarah, TX
    October 28, 2008

The coffee maker works fine with the exception of the 747 aircraft engine in the grinder. It is unbelievably loud!!! Truly a wakeup call and very disappointing because it is deafening. Our bedroom is upstairs from the kitchen and it's like a machine gun going off when it comes on. The military may be interested in this coffee maker for training purposes.

Also, the coffee pot holds 12 cups but the grinder doesn't hold enough coffee beans for a full 12 cup pot of coffee unless you like weak coffee.

    Good Coffee

    by Laurie, WY
    November 19, 2008

This product was recommended with reservations in the Sept./Oct issue of Cook's Illustrated because the grinder was loud and the water temperature wasn't hot enough long enough.
In the Nov/Dec issue, they recommended that one heat the water to 100º before brewing.....that kinda negates the usefulness of the grinder and programming features.
Yes, the grinder is loud but the it's programmed to start when I

    Best Coffee Maker Ever

We love our new Cuisinart Coffee Maker. Friends vacationed with us this winter and brought their Cuisinart with them. We couldn't drink our coffee when we returned home...we had to have this coffee maker. I wouldn't be writing this if it wasn't. We definitely recommend this item. Great Deal Best Coffee I have ever had from a home coffee maker.

    A Wonderful Cup of Coffee

    by Vivian, KY
    December 12, 2006

I am not the best at making a really good cup of coffee. In my house, my husband usually takes top honors. Now we are both able to make a perfect pot everytime. This coffee maker ensures delicious results.

I was wary about the noise level of the grinder based on other opinions here. However, I do not find it to be obnoxiously loud. The grind is very quick for even the largest servings, so the noise is soon gone if you are particularly sensitive.

The only down side, which is the reason for the four stars, is that there is a lot of cleaning to do to ensure fresh coffee each and every pot. The grinder is in two pieces, the basket has three, and the pot has two pieces. All in all, it is worth the extra trouble for coffee this good!

    Everything you need!

    by Clifford, NY

This is a great combination coffee grinder and brewer. You can program it up to 24 hours in advance, so if you need your morning cup o' joe and don't want to have to prepare everything before you're fully awake, this is the answer. Plus, no need to have a separate coffee grinder. I like the fact that most of the parts are removable and dishwasher-safe. And one more nice thing is the capability of using either a permanent gold filter (included) OR your standard paper filter. Cuisinart did it all and did it right

The coffeemaker is nice and compact for small counters. Simple to use and you get a great cup of fresh coffee. Grinds beans finely and quickly. Easy clean-up too.

    Coffee too weak

    by Adam, VT
    January 4, 2007

This thing is a real chore to clean: 2 coffee grinder parts, three filter parts and the pot and lid.

The coffee grinder does not hold enough beans to make strong coffee. If you like weak truck stop coffee this will do, but if you want a mean cup of java, you will need to look elsewhere.

    Great coffee pot and grinder

    by Janet, WA
    May 23, 2007

I have been extremely happy with my Cuisinart Automatic Grind and Brew Coffee Maker. It has made a great cup of coffee every time and so much easier and neater than grinding the beans separately. Clean up is easy since everything is machine washable.

    Great product....but

This product is great, I've used it before - however, we had to return it because of the product height. It was too tall to fit under the cabinets on the counter.

    Coffee House Quality at Home

    by Joyce, SC
    January 6, 2008

This Cuisinart model brews delicious coffee. Easy to use, easy to clean and looks nice on the counter. For the price ... can't be beat. The only drawback is the noise factor as the coffee grinds.

Difficult to clean -- but makes the best coffee of ANY maker I've ever used. Worth the cleaning hassle because the coffee is so good.

    Sleek Design

    by Michele, CA
    February 8, 2009

I bought this to replace our older, bulky coffee maker plus a coffee grinder. The design is slick and modern. We love the look in the kitchen. Makes perfect coffee. We love the fact that it's an all-in-one option. The only real downside is that you have to completely clean the the coffee grinder portion of the unit. Because moisture from the brewing coffee gets into the grinder, there are coffee grounds that are stuck in the container. The grinder itself is a little loud. My husband and I think it sounds like an airplane taking off, but fortunately, it only lasts about 20 seconds. It would also be a benefit if the clock was a little bigger or brighter.
