Crisp, puffy popovers are crowd pleasers with any meal. Using this aluminum, nonstick pan, you can create up to 12 at a time. Cups are designed so that as popovers bake, rise, and "pop over" they won't spread into the others in the pan. Deep tapered cups promote even baking and better air circulation. I've worked with the larger cups, 6 in a rack, for years. I've always thought they were too large for an average serving. This 12 cup version is called mini but I think the portion size is just right. The popovers 'popped' perfectly, each time and each and every one, and are so easy to make with this pan, there's no need to make poppvers a special ocassion food anymore.
Love this pan!

Very well made. This was my first time at making popovers. They turned out perfect and didn't stick. I really like the mini popover pan.

In my opinion

My favorite recipe was not producing the great popovers I was accustomed to serving. After several attempts at changing ingredients, temperatures and
process, I finally realized it was the pan that was failing. I purchased the 12 cup popover pan and voila! Perfect popovers every time. No sticking, beautiful crown and fun to serve. Thank you! I love it.

Not only a good price for these, but try to find it elsewhere at any price. I already have the larger size that makes six. I thought this scaled-down size making twelve popovers would be good for smaller, more casual gatherings...like brunch, lunch, etc...it makes the meal stretch further b/c portions are smaller yet adequate. Popovers are an idiot-proof lighter substitute for rolls, breads, muffins, etc..., using only eggs, flour and water basically and takes half the time, no effort, and with 100% more WOW factor than breads and rolls. If you have never made popovers at all nor in their proper cooking pans, then you are missing out on something really unusually tasty and easy and that makes a wonderfully unique addition to the meal.

I have been using Chicago Metallic popover pans, both the mini and standard size, for years. Always have performed very well, producing airy, golden popovers and Yorkshire pudding with minimal clean-up. I like the minis because I can make 12 at one shot rather than having to use two of the standard pans. I always have at least two of the minis and standards so that, whichever I am using, as soon as one comes out of the oven, the next goes in on a rotating basis. Around my house, anything less than several dozen puddings with a prime rib dinner is considered not only insufficient but also an insult. Love those pans.

When I purchased the popover pan I was expecting something bigger (the cups are the size of votive candles). So I cut the recipe in half and had just enough batter for all 12. I served them on Easter (to 10 people) and they were a big hit.
Bottom line: Great pan if you are serving multiple people.

This pan makes the perfect sized popovers. I can now make 12 popovers for serving to guests without having to use two separate pans and two separate ovens as I have had to do in the past with the standard size pans which only make 6.

Make Best Popovers

by Mary, FL

I had a different popover pan before but did not care for the popovers, they never turned out right. This one makes a perfect size and they keep their shape during the meal. The recipe with the pan is very good and they just pop out of the pan when done. I love making them now.

I checked online everywhere for a popover pan...and found Betty Crocker to have the best price for the product. It is very easy to clean, popovers slide right out, no sticking. I tried the recipe that came w/pan also and it was delicious. Thank you Betty Crocker.

Perfect for Yorkshire pudding

by Ellen, CA
March 2, 2010

This was gift for daughter and her husband, who is British. She has been had off-again, on-again results with Yorkshire puddings in muffin tins, especially large batches for when company comes (me included). When I gave her this she said she had been looking for this kind and had not been able to find it. I've not yet heard about performance but it has been recommended by several well-regarded chefs. I'm looking forward to perfect Yorkshire puddings next family gathering at her house.

This really makes excellent Popovers with the least
amount of work of any unit I have encountered.

Also, the size of the Popovers is excellent. My old
iron Popover pan makes them too large and of course
one has to do some scraping - not so with this unit.
Sometimes have used ramekins for better size but
these take more work and scraping too.
