    Great Coffee Maker!!

    by Antoinette, OH
    August 11, 2008

I really love this thermal coffee maker by Cuisinart! I have the black one and just purchased the white one for my mother as a suprise. We both like that it is programable and stays HOT for hours .You can take the carafe outside for a poolside morning breakfast or place it on a brunch buffet for your guests! Plus ,if you accidentally hit the carafe against the faucet while washing , it wont break like the glass carafes. Its has an updated contemporary look and looks great on your counter. This cuisinart thermal coffee maker would make a great gift!!

    Filter Easily Clogs

    by Allison, IL
    September 6, 2008

The 3rd time I used this coffee maker the filter clogged, filled with the hot water. When I went to see what was going on, I opened the filter door and burning hot water ran down my arm.

Finally a 12 cup thermal pot

    by Rosalinda, AA
    September 22, 2008

When I saw Cuisinart's 12 cup programmable I had to buy it. This is the first time I have purchased a Cuisinart coffee pot and I must say, it is fantastic.

I love the that you don't have to twist the top to pour and the coffee is hot for hours, much longer than my other thermal pot. I noticed immediately that my coffee tasted better too.

This is second one we have purchased

    by Marilou, OK
    December 17, 2008

It's difficult to find a coffee pot that doesn't have the grind feature to it - we prefer to do ours separately. This is the second one we have purchased as we used the other one so much for three years that we needed a new one. Actually this is the third one we have purchased as we got a second one for our lake house.

    Disappointed

    by Brenna, NJ
    January 17, 2009

When my cuisinart grind n'brew died I decided to stick with the same brand since I thought I could count on the durability. I am disappointed with the coffee maker because the basket for the filter doesn't fit into place properly for brewing. I had one over flow because of it. It's a very simple thing for it to snap in place which is why I was very suprised to have it not fit properly on such an expensive coffee maker. On the up side the carafe does keep the coffee hot for a good couple hours which is why I bought it.

    Not user-friendly

    by Patricia, MD
    March 19, 2009

The basket is very awkwardly designed. Not good when trying to make coffee in the early a.m. The top to the carafe is also poorly designed, is difficult to operate, and the gasket falls off.

    Great Coffee

    by Janis, IL
    January 11, 2009

This coffeemaker does a very good job on small pots as well as for the whole 12 cups. I like that it has a timer to program for morning starts and it also has a great feature I have never had before...a beeper to let me know when the coffee is done. It has a much better caraffe than my old one. This one pours nicely with no drips or spills.

    Thermal Carafe

    by Mary, NJ
    August 4, 2008

I sent the Thermal Carafe to my sister. This past week, I spent a week with her at the shore. The coffee was delicious and even after we came back from Church, the coffee was still hot. The ease of the carafe being used right on the table was an asset. With my daughter and her family also visiting, we brewed 12 cups of coffee with ease. It was easy to clean. The bell sound to alert the coffee brewing is a nice feature. I would highly recommend it and may purchase one for myself in the future. Thanks for a wonderful product.

Keeps coffee hot but pours badly

    by Celia, GA
    September 10, 2008

I have mixed views on this coffee maker. The carafe keeps fluids hot (or cold) for a very long time and is sleek enough to be used on the table. However, the opening in the neck is very narrow, so you have to tip the pot to horizontal for it to pour and then the coffee comes out of the hole in the lid as well as the spout. I also find that the coffee container often overflows if you make a full pot of coffee or grind the coffee slightly too finely.

    I'm completely disappointed.

    by Julie, PA
    November 5, 2007

First of all, there is a feature that is supposedly unique to this coffee maker- it's the sneak-a-cup where you can pour a cup of coffee when it's still brewing. This did not work for me. It never worked. The coffee maker also seems to get clogged somewhere, and probably 50% of the time I walk into the kitchen to find coffee streamed all over my counter and onto the floor. The only good thing is that when I put hot water into the maker, the coffee brews hot and stays hot. But the constant aggravation is not worth the price at all.

    Love it!!!

This is my first coffee machine with a thermal carafe and I love it. I read the reviews before buying it, I have had the machine alittle over one week and have not had any problems. It keeps the coffee hot for at least 8-9 hours. You only have to make sure the lid is in the correct position before you start to brew or you will have a mess on your hands. As far as cleaning goes, I pour hot water with soap into the carafe and use a sponge that has alittle plastic stick (like the ones you use to clean baby bottles with), and it does the job. I would recommend this machine to anyone who is thinking on buying it. It's worth the money you pay for it and more.

Delighted with the coffee maker. Keeps coffee hot for hours. Takes up less space than other makers that we considered. Brews coffee quickly.

This coffee maker is worth a look if you want a full sized thermal carafe. The coffee maker works OK and the carafe keeps coffee warm all day. But if you need your first cup of coffee to wake up in the morning, beware! You have to pay attention when prepraring to make coffee. The water gauge is on the left side and can't be seen if there is aanything next to the coffer maker. If you overfill the tank, water runs out an overflow hole in the back. You can't just drop the filter basket inb place; you have to make sure it is seated properly. And you have to be careful not to cross-thread the top of the carafe when putting it on. We find the coffee to be weak compared to other coffee makers that use a #4 cone filter, such as Kitchenaid. Adding more coffee helps but use too much and it is bitter. This is our first experience with a thermal carafe. All-in-all it's OK but not great.

    Impossible to clean effectively!

    by Tracy, WI
    June 5, 2007

I was disappointed with this product because the opening to the carafe is too small to get my hand inside of the carafe to clean -- I'd estimate about 2 inches in diameter. I have to estimate because I've since returned it. I don't know how people pleased with this coffee maker are cleaning it!

I don't think even those 'sponge-on-a-handles' I've seen could fit inside that opening. Who wants to deal with that every day?

This is the coffee maker I have been looking for, it makes 12 cups of coffee, it doesn't drip all over the place when you pour a cup and it makes great coffee.

Makes excellent coffee that stays hot and fresh in the stainless steel carafe for several hours without burning as can happen with standard glass carafe sitting on heater element. Unique lid on carafe works well to maintain temperature and freshness but pours slowly and splashes if poured too fast. User must be careful to screw lid and properly insert filter basket as basket may break if not seated properly. Automatic timer on most coffeemakers will start the same time every day as long as re-set button is pushed when timer feature is needed. This model doesn't have a re-set so user has to always remember to turn off timer when it is not needed. Excellent product with advantages over traditional coffeemaker with glass carafe.

    disappointed

    by Samuel, MA
    May 3, 2008

The coffee tastes great, and the unit works as advertised. BUT, the top is difficult to screw in, the coffee comes out very slowly due to the small openning, and the shape of the pot makes it necessary to hold it at an uncomfortable angle to get the last 5 cups out. In short, poor human engineering.

This is my third Cuisinart coffee pot purchased on Cooking.com. All three are the same except for color. One for myself and two for gifts. The thermal carafe should be standard on all coffee makers. The taste of coffee from this coffeemaker is excellent. I recommend it without reservation. The only drawback (minor) is to be sure the carafe is seated properly during the brewing process so it drains properly from the basket.
