I ordered this maker and was excited to use it. It is not hard to use, and keeps coffee hot for hours. Just one little problem though...it has a horrible plastic taste to it. I've cleaned it thoroughly, with the recommended solution of vinegar and water, several times, but to no avail. Had to send the unit back to cuisinart and am waiting for a return product.

Great Coffee Maker

This is my second unit. The first one I owned developed a leak after a year or so. That is the only reason I didn't give it a 5 rating. It makes great coffee and the carafe keeps it hot for a long time without any evaporation to make the coffee taste bitter.

Couldn't ya put in a removable water vessel?

That would be great! Something that you can carry over to the sink, add the appropriate number of cups of water -- which you can read and determine easily and efficiently -- without having to guess and end up having underestimated (cause what can you POSSIBLY do if you've filled it too much?!) and go back to the sink..

The directions for set up are not very clear (fyi: the filter basket swings open from the left, which seems backwards), and it's crucial to screw the lid on the pot properly, which can take a little practice. But if you take the time to do things right, you will have delicious coffee that stays hot for hours. We particularly like the feature that allows you to pour coffee without doing anything to the lid of the carafe.

No gold-toned re-useable filter included. Filter door is difficult to open and close. Not a good choice for arthritic hands.

The carafe has already broke due to the coffee backing up on the stainer and resulted in serious burns on the hand. We will be calling manufactorer to get money back.

The coffee maker makes the coffee quickly and the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours without sacrificing the coffee's flavor. A very good product, highly recommended.

I love this coffee maker! I've been looking for a thermal pot but most of them have only 8 or 10 cup capacity. I was pleased to find this one was 12 cups. We have been wonderfully happy with it's performance and appearance and are very glad to have made this purchase. The only negative thing I would say about it is that it has a loud beeping upon completion of its brewing cycle. I suppose some may like that, but if I could figure out how to disable it I would. Great deal at a great price!

Much better than our old coffee maker. The coffee starts out very hot and maintains a good drinking temp for 6-8 hours. Love the programmable timer and the auto shut off when brewing is complete

This is our second Coffee Pot for this model. The lid to the carafe failed on the first pot after 5 years of making at least two pots a day every day. Highly recommended.
