Product Does not Measure Up to Expectations

Looking at the picture, you would expect you could slice oranges and other fruits and vegetables, but I found the blades are too dull. With an orange, it squeezes the slice before it starts to cut it. So I have tried to sharpen the edge with a knife sharpening tool. I found that a V-Slicer works much better at slicing because the blades shaped like a V and the blades being so sharp can slice thin or thick slices. I found that this product could not possibly make those slices in the photograph depicted with the advertisement because the edge is too dull.

I use this mandolin on a daily basis. Although I have not yet used it to julienne and thus have no experience with changing the blades, I have used it it to create thick and thin slices of onions, peppers, cucumbers, cheese, and apples . Although I have owned mandolins for years, this one seems very easy to operate. The pusher , which is the achilles heal of many models including my old OXO, seems well designed to stand up to ther many uses I put it through. This bproduct is a great value and unless you are a professional or need some very fancy applications, this is the mandolin for you.

Worst product EVER purchased!

This item is a hallmark of a badly designed, hard to use and clean, poorly working device!!

The blades are worthless---at best they only score the product, not cutting more than 80% through. In several tries, french fries and carrot sticks have been impossible to achieve!! Cuts (slices cheese fairly well, BUT---every slice hangs up under the Mandoline, usually on the forever-to-remain-empty blade slot. The unit must be picked uo to remove every slice!!

Carrot slicing was another exercise in futility--the carrots constantly fell out(off) the slicing aid(?) and gave me several large chunks and seven sizes of slices.


I would not wish this unit on an enemy!

Best I have owned , This is true and I have tried many and ended up discarding them ..This is fantastic and not once have I cut myself like I have with others.Please keep offering us the quality you have been offering us. It is a pleasure to go shopping with confidence. Freeda

Great product but.....

I've never owned one of these before. I'm currently trying to live and eat healthier so I thought this would be perfect for all those salads and fruit! The only problem is never owning one of these before I wasn't really clear on how to use it and was shocked at the lack of descriptions of the blades and which one did what and really how to use it. If it wern't for my Mom I would be at a total loss. Need to work on those instructions!!!! Love the product and would recomend it.

Delux Mandoline

I recently purchased the Delux Mandoline and have been using it almost daily in my kitchen prep area. It is easy to assemble and clean and has eliminated much of the time consuming slicing and dicing for me. I made a potato augratin on Easter for 35 people and had all of my slicing completed in about 8 minutes! Great product!

Mandoline

Why have I not had this before now....what a great kitchen tool. I just love it. Easy to use, compact for easy storage, easy to clean, I highly recommend this mandoline. You don't need to look further for one - this is it!

Very handy: I wanted to upgrade my cute little supermarket mandoline with something a bit sturdier and which had more options. Not *too* expensive, but just the right price for what I needed. Easy to clean (although not dishwasher safe), too. Definitely a bargain.

This item was not so good. The blades don't fit easily into the slot you need to put them in. Pushing the exposed blade into the unit could be an accident waiting to happen. Once the blade was in place, it didn't cut vegetables as much as it simply bruised them. I returned mine.

Worth the price if you can't afford a high-end mandoline. Overall works well but requires more care when slicing softer items & more effort when slicing hard items.

Not bad

This mandoline is not a bad product. I think it could cut a little better, sometimes when cutting potatoes it is not as smooth as I would like it to be and it does not cut the product evenly. Overall I'm satisfied

Purchased this for my 85 year old mother, easy for her to use and easy to clean..Great product!

Delux Madndoline

The product was shipped quickly and arrived in excellent condition. However, it would have been nice if there were instructions for suggested usage for beginners. For instance, to cut french fries use this blade to dice, etc. At least something to refer to until a person gets the hang of it.

Hard to figure out...

I love the Mandoline except for the attatchments. I've never used anything but a knife but once I figured out the process it was easy.

I like it very much the only thing I'm not crazy about
is the storage. We've been keeping it in the box
which is huge. I did see another Mandoline at your
site which had storage for all the blades. I liked the
looks of the one I bought better so I got it, but I think
I should have bought the other one that stored all the
blades. I'll have to figure out something because I do
not want to keep hauling it out of the box. Other than
this, I like it very much and it does the job.

I bought this product to julian parsnips for a wonderful gratin recipe I had gotten. It worked like a dream - cuts out all the labor of having to do it yourself, whether you have good knives or not. Only drawback it has is this - it says you can use up every ounce of food you have and chop/slice/etc. w/ the mandoline. That's not completely true. It cuts ALMOST all of the food, but you're still left w/ a few nibbles. Regardless, I love it and enjoy using it:)
