  • MOST HELPFUL REVIEWS

  • I have broken many cheaply made wooden spoons incorporating ingredients into cookie dough and other stiff mixtures. This H.A. Mack spoon is lightweight, but definitely has strength to it. While mixing oatmeal cookie dough, I did not get a sense I was going to break the spoon. I’d recommend this spoon to others who like to mix it up.

  • Really thick spoon

The bowl is small and the spoon itself is really thick. I was hoping for a spoon that was bigger and a little thinner so you could scoop better.

  • New French Beechwood Fan

I had never heard of French Beechwood to be honest, but I like my wooden spoons & needed to replace one. This spoon looks great. It is smooth & sturdy. Depending on if it wears well, I would love to get additional cooking items made from French Beechwood. It seems much less pourous than my bamboo cooking utensils, which I consider a plus.

    I recommend this product.

  • This is an excellent spoon

It's hard to imagine writing a review of such a simple and inexpensive item, but so many wood spoons are terrible. This one is excellent --- it's just the right shape to stir average pots and the head is small enough and shaped properly to stir every bit of food in the corners of pots and pans. And it is smoothly finished --- very well sanded --- but untreated and uncoated with varnish. I always try to avoid wooden spoons treated with varnish, which may be toxic. I'd rather just wipe a little of my own organic olive oil over the spoon. This spoon is highly recommended. I wish cooking.com carried it in 14" in addition to the 12" version.

    I recommend this product.

  • Excellent Kitchen Staple

I've had a few different wooden spoons, but after reading positive reviews of these I thought I'd give them a try. They are in fact very easy to use, and I will likely continue to use them. The thin wooden handle makes them easy to maneuver, and despite their delicate appearance they have no problem dealing with thick stews or casseroles. I did treat these with some cutting board oil, hoping to prevent staining and odors. These are very cheap, but also hard to get for some reason; they are frequently unavailable on the internet and I have never seen them in a retail location. I'll probably buy a half-dozen the next time I place an interenet order just to have them on hand.

    I recommend this product.

  • Wonderful Spoon

Beechwood spoons are great. They are beautiful, sturdy, and very long-lasting. My last one is more than 10 years old. The long handle makes stirring big pots of soup, sauce, and pasta very easy.

sturdier than I expected, for the price. I do somewhat prefer a more spatula-shaped spoon, but this is a nice alternative.

  • The spoon is a good value for the price but it was not what i was looking for the spoons are a small shaft thay make a heavy duty one the pic's are deseving and you need to soak your spoons in oil to keep them from drying out.

  • Junk; don't buy

This spoon is not very good. The material is rather cheap and rough, and the bowl is on the small side, making it not too useful. Skip this spoon, and buy something else. The Mario Batali spoons are much nicer.
