Looking for a healthier way to prepare your meals? Here's a solution: the 12-in. Round Grill Pan, one of Calphalon's House Specials. From their Professional Nonstick II line, the heavy-gauge, all aluminum pan has a raised, grooved cooking surface so the fats and oils simply drain away from your burgers, poultry and fish as they cook. And for easy clean up, the interior's cooking surface is treated with a nonstick material. The multi-riveted, Cool Touch arch-vent handle pulls the heat through and away from the pan keeping it cool so long as it's on the stovetop.

Note: Not intended for induction, ceramic, and glass cooktop surfaces. Because of the pan's raised, grooved cooking surface, the bottom portion is not entirely flat and will not lie flush against your stovetop surface, preventing the heat from penetrating all of your food.

My favorite pan!

by Jeffrey, NY
December 27, 2007

I thought this non-stick grill pan would be and nice addition to my cookware for occasional use, and I use it almost every time I cook. It is great for frying, for grilling hotdogs with those grill lines that make it more appetizing and for fries as they come out less greasy and everything is healthier with less oil needed. I sometimes us a little oil and sometimes I just spray a super thin coat. Quick cooking and cleanup. Also, the handle magically never gets hot! That's my favorite part. A great value. I really like it!

Wow!, This pan is truly wonderful!! I found the weight of the pan to be just right, not too heavy and easy to manuever. The performance was terrific as well leaving beautiful grill marks and cooking perfectly within the recommended guide lines. Clean up was a breeze as well, very simple and quick. Overall, a great pan for an exceptional price!!!

Terrific pan for grilling thin sliced chicken cutlets, hamburgers, steaks!! No over clean up and it just wipes out. Works just like a seasoned cast iron pan!!

The Perfect Steak Pan

by Carlton, PA
May 29, 2008

The season has arrived for throwing off the cover of the Outdor Grill. Geting that fresh tank of propane and the wood chips to give that brisket a maple and cherry infusion of smoke. On the side burner you place your grill pan. Toss in the veggies and all is right with world. This pan was exactly what I expected from a high quality product endorsed through the foodnetwork. I have also used it inside to grill some salmon on top of the stove then finishing it in the oven. the grill marks gave a nice touch to my dinner plate presentaion.

I've always wanted a grill pan, and since we are just two, this round one is the perfect size and easy to store. I have never been disappointed with

I have a glass stove top so this grill heats very well and my grilling expectations were exceeded. Of course, clean up was a breeze, too. I love all of my Calphalon

Pan is too light - should be made of a heavier alum.

Calphalon Grille pan too thin

by Robin, PA
February 23, 2010

Pan is too thin to withstand even low heat...already warping slightly. (Only used it three times.)

Disappointed in the way it was packaged. Selected as a gift and nothing in box identified the pan as Calphalon..no information sheets etc. Pan was in plastic bag in unmarked white box. I ended up keeping pan and gave a gift card to local gormet shop as "replacement" gift.

I own a lot of Calphalon pots & pans.I never found fault with any of them until now.
This piece seems cheaply made, the handle is very unconfortable where the open seam is located, the space between both seem to be at different heights which makes it extremely uncomfortable to work with.
I would perfer to think that I just had the misfortune to have one that is an aberration from the rest of these items. Because as I say, Calphon productst have over all have been very good in my judgement.
Sincerly,
ECG

The first thing I noticed is that nowhere on this grill pan has Calphalon stamped its name. It does say "Made in China." I'm taking everyone's word that it is in fact a Calphalon product and that Calphalon here isn't just acting as a shipping agent for-- Anonymousware? The pan is of thinner guage than I expected but seems adequate enough for lighter grilling tasks.
I've used it thus far for salmon and chicken breast fillets. It's possible that for the sale price paid I expected too much. For first-rate top-of-stove grilling I'll still use my old, heavy, ribbed cast-iron Lodge skillet (with Lodge's name on it).

Next time make sure you put the real country where its made. It said U.S.A. on the items detail when I rececived it was stamped China, so I gave it away.Series cooks don't use pots and pans from China.

not for use with lean cuts of meat

by Mark, IL
February 11, 2007

while the pan does give great grill marks, and spreads out the heating equally , it has a tendency to burn leaner cuts of meat with no or limited fat.
I find the need to keep adding liquid ( I have used a lot of wine reductions for sauce) to keep from burning or use very low heat which does not leave grill marks and I bought a lid for this pan to cook with.

overall the pan has limits and you will need to learn to cook with this pan, maybe I should say this pan will make you become a better cook or you will be throwing away alot of burned up product

For the price you can't beat this grill pan. I don't use one that often, so I didn't want to spend a lot. I am very pleased with the performance and easy clean-up.

Calphalon v. All Clad

by R Gail, FL
February 4, 2008

Over time, I had purchased three All-Clad 12- inch round griddle pans for myself and gifts. Even though the pricing at Cooking.com was better than any retail store, the pans are still expensive. When I needed a griddle pan for my vacation home, I decided to try Calphalon's version. It is EXCELLENT and was half the price. It's somewhat lighter in weight, but does the same job as the more expensive All-Clad.

I used it to fry up some crab cakes.

Great Grill Pan!

by Joy, IA
May 25, 2008

I've cooked several dishes in this pan and all the meats grilled up nicely from skinless chicken breast to pork chops. I really like the fact that I can even put it in the oven to finish off the meal. Clean up is a breeze - nothing sticks to the pan. I liked it so much, I bought my son one! This pan is a must for all cooks!
