I was a little concerned about the roughness of the inside of this pan. I really wondered how it could be so rough & be non-stick, HOWEVER it is WONDERFUL! I have cooked a variety of things in the pan and all has been wonderful. It's nice & deep so you can turn things like homefries without them flying out of the pan! I would recommend this pan to anyone who cooks for a crowd!
The 12 inch nonstick jumbo fryer by Calphalon is my go to pan. I use it for sauteing, stir frying, making one dish meals because it can go from the stove top to the oven with no problems.
holds a lot. cleans up beautifully. warranty is no good if you use the dishwasher which i do. i think it will still last a long time.

I have used the jumbo fryer a few times and although my first impression of it "out of the box" was that I was going to be disappointed because it is very light weight for it's size. I was surprised when I used it, that it held temperature well even though my burner is quite a bit smaller. Pork chops were nicely seared, and eggplant fried up evenly. I found that I liked that I could comfortably lift it due to the lighter weight. I will be using it instead of cast iron frequently.
My husband however, does not like it very much. I would recommend this for a female, but for male cooks I would not.
not because the quality, just because i bought the wrong one. I live alone, and it's too large for me. Later I bought an 8-inch pan, same brand, on this website. As far as the quality is concerned, I think they are good, at least I like the 8-inch one very much. Beautiful pan, and works well.
This is a very good utensil because: 1) the sides are deep and there is less chance of spillage, 2) the see-through glass lid allows you to view the process of cooking without opening the top and letting out the heat 3) the long slightly elevated handle is very convenient in moving the fry pan around and 4) it's easy to clean.
My husband got this for me. It doesn't make up for a good Anniversary present, but it will do. I love the big size, and the see-through lid. My only two complaints for this: The covering on the handle doesn't go all the way down, and if I'm not careful I can burn myself. And two, it's rather large for my small kitchen sink, so washing it can be tricky.
Versetility. Besides deep frying, it handles sauting and stir frying well. With an insert you can steam vegetables or poach.
The high sides keep oil splash/spray to a minimum, affording easy cleanup. The deepness of the pan makes separating the oil from fry coating easy. So you can use some oil twice.
The item cooks evenly but I noticed from the very first time I used it that it enhanced the flavor of the same meals I cooked in my old pan. I was so please with it that I bought a companion roasting pan. I haven't used it yet but I am confident that I will be just as pleased.
I do like this pan, but I am waiting to see if the bottom stuff flakes off like all the other calphalon pans that I bought.
I would have preferred this to be an Emerile pan, but so far so good... I've only used it twice so I can't really say how study it will be.
