This pan is not recommended for glass/ceramic-top stoves.
This griddle is a pleasure to use. It heats evenly, has a beautiful heft to it, and I just love it. So far, I have made pancakes, blueberry blintzes (for the final browning), and bacon. I cut the bacon in half and it holds plenty and the bacon cooks evenly.
I have other all clad pieces and find the all clad is worth the expense.
When I was on vacation this year, I happened to help cook breakfast for friend's parents. They had a square All clad griddle, which I also really liked. Using their griddle prompted me to buy the All Clad upon my return.
First thing I noticed is that the box it came in says "made in China". The web site here states "origin: USA". That is what caused me to decide between it and another brand.
Cooking with cast iron is a lot better. I currently only have a medium cast iron skillet that only cooks one pancake at a time. I only use this one if wanting to cook 3 small pancakes at a time.
It takes a lot of patience to get the pan to finally heat the whole surface, longer than 2-3 mins. Even still the surface is hotter towards the center. Best method I've found is to start the preheat on 'med low' a few minutes then turn up flame/heat to medium for another few minutes or so.
The only good things I can say are..... it's easy to clean and has the very comfortable handle that my other All-Clad products have.
I love this pan. I use it for pancakes, vegetables, and crepes. It is also perfect for Indian crepes (dosas) and Indian tortillas (rotis, debras, and parathas). I have the square one also. Cleans up easy and cooks even and requires a lower tempaerature too. You should have atleast one of the two griddle pans in your kitchen. I couldn't choose; I have them both and I use them both.
This was a perfect purchase for the price. Even temperature all around. You don't have half cooked pancakes. Love it!5 of 8 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
Top notch, as you would expect. All of the great attributes; holds even heat and terrific nonstick for perfect pancakes to quesadillas.4 of 5 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
This griddle is okay but not the quality I expected from All-Clad. It already has a small chip in the non stick on the rim after only a couple of weeks of daily use. I use it every day for hash browns and sometimes ham. It requires only a tiny amount of oil for flavor. It is starting to get a little sticky build up of oil around the edges that is hard to remove but it is usually very easy to clean.
The price is reasonable and the design is good for this griddle. It would work well for pancakes or eggs, too.
One solid griddle
My son loves pancakes and eats them regularly, this griddle is awesome. It isn't just teflon coated like many griddles, it seems like the whole this is one solid piece of teflon. I know it sounds odd, but even with little scratches that almost inevitably occur, this griddle still can just be wiped clean with no effort at all. The one small downside, this is just a personal preference, is the handle. It is quite long and makes it difficult to store in my cabinets. We don't have a lot of storage space so it is a bit cumbersome. But a small price to pay, and I would've still bought it knowing about the handle.3 of 6 users found this helpful. This griddle replaces one my husband he brought from France in 1988. This pan is better than the one it replaces. We use it almost daily for pancakes, eggs, grilled cheese, quesadillas, crepes, etc., etc. It is easy to clean too.2 of 3 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »

so far....so great!
Was replacing a slightly larger Calphalon griddle that is not made any more. The All-Clad griddle's non-stick surface works great and the heat from a gas stove seems evenly distributed. The pan is not too heavy either. Time will tell how long it lasts......0 of 0 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
we love it
My mom and I, who are the two cooks of our household, LOVE this griddle. We use it to grill veggies, chicken, steak, and make pancakes, French toast, crepe, scallion pancakes, and pan fry dumplings... You name it. It cooks nicely and often times doesn't need oil. It's a cinch to clean too since it's non-stick. We call it a wonder pan!0 of 0 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
