Real boost to grilling

by Sue, TX

Don't know how I got along without this Chimney Starter. It works like
it should and is so convenient. Very well made and easy to use. Nice
to not use starter fluid. Much better taste to the food.

Better price & excellent CONTROL

by Kathleen, VA
June 17, 2010

I already had one of these, for which I paid $20 for at a local building store last summer. These two were on sale, so even with the cost of shipping, they were still less than local retial! I have a LARGE chargrill and am a charcoal snob, so no lighter fluid for us. I like to cook a large amount of amount of meat and veggies as our family is 6 and we often have others join us. So, by using all three starters at once, I get sufficient charcola ready to cook a few steaks, burgers, dogs, and veggies aT ONCE. I can really bank the grayed hot coals for indirect or direct heating methods without having to add more or wait. Until last year, I used a couple of different brands and they were flimsier and did not have the heavy-duty heatproof handle. Nor did they have the flippable control handle bar unique to the Weber chimney; and these 'extras' are ESSENTIAL to safe handling and controlled pouring of the burning charcoal. These chimneys are also a little larger volume containers than the others out there so very efficient. No lighter fluid taste + use of old newspaper + use a basic long match = good to go!!

Replaced one which took over 12 years' wear

by Mark, CA
July 11, 2010

This is actually the second charcoal starter by Weber I've used. Had one for over 12 years which saw a lot of use before a humid climate finally rusted it out. I bought a smaller off-brand chimney and regretted it- it would light the charcoal but took 30-40 minutes to do it. The Weber holds plenty of charcoal for their kettle grille and will have it ready to go in 20 minutes, the side of middle of the chimney softly glowing. It's well-built, well-designed and reasonably priced. If this one lasts another 20 years I've saved a bundle on charcoal starter with a device which lights charcoal quickly and gets it HOT, every time.

I have never found a product that works as well as this one.My only suggestion is to use Three Full sheets of Newsprint and spray it lightly with cooking oil

I had a chimney that I bought at Kmart. There is no comparison. This one works great and doesn't rust. At least not so far.

this is the almost perfect starter. i only say almost because i know it will eventually look burned and ugly where if it was black maybe it would look nicer longer. BUT..its a great size and so easy to light!!

I just received this a short time ago and have already used this 4 time to prepare my coals for the B-B-Q and it performed flawlessly. I've no doubt it will have earned 5 stars by the end of summer, but... Thanks again "FN"

There is nothing worse than getting to the Jet game and having to nurse the charcoal to a nice glow for your BBQ. With the Chimney Starter we get a great fire in minutes.

Weber Charcoal Chimney Starter Great

by Donald, TN
August 26, 2010

I bought the Weber RapidFire Charcoal Chimney Starter to replace a smaller, off-the-counter starter. The Weber product works wonderfully - easier, surer, and much faster. The old starter was too small with limited air circulation. It usually required two or three re-starts and then 30-40 minutes to start fewer brickets. RapidFire has worked first-time every-time, and is ready in 20-minutes. I have purchased a second RapidFire as a gift for my daughter.

Have had cheaper versions of this before & they didn't last long. My husband said this is the best he's ever used. Love the fact that it's easy to empty.
