When your cucumber harvest goes into overdrive, it's time to make pickles. Stir Ball® 13.4-oz. Kosher Dill Pickle Mix into your pickling liquid, and let this special blend do the work for you. The mix transforms the cucumbers while they are in storage, producing crisp and crunchy dill spears within just a few weeks. Use the measurements on the bulk-size bottle to prepare as few as 2 quarts or as many as 14 quarts of tangy kosher dill pickles at one time. Because you mix only one batch of pickling liquid for all the jars you are canning, you only need to measure once. Making flexible-size batches of pickles allows you to work in small or large quantities, depending on when your produce is ready. Preserving just a few pickles at a time means that you can put up the cucumbers right after you pick them, giving you the freshest flavor possible. If your family enjoys spicy snacks, you can customize your pickle recipe by adding mustard seeds, chopped onion or slices of hot peppers to each jar.
Best Used For:
We love the freedom of making our own pickles. Use baby cucumbers to make great little kosher dill snacks or medium-size cucumbers that are ideal for cutting into spears. Slice large cucumbers before pickling so you have a handy topping for your favorite burger or sandwich.
I just got the Fresh Tech Automatic Home Canning System (which I love) and so I bought this mix, along with the Bread & Butter. All you need is vinegar, water and this mix. The brine has just the right balance of acidity and the pickles are crispy and tasty.
I purchased this product for resale. When they arrived at the fulfillment center, they began selling immediately. I purchased 12 to test the market and I was sold out in just a few days. I have reordered.
I do not like receiving the mix rock hard i wasted a lot trying to break it up to measure,
I know this product is good however very disappointed that no one could tell it was rock hard ( i used a screwdriver and hammer to break it apart.!) I believe after paying such an enormous air fare to get it here i must find a different avenue next time.
I had never made pickles before so when the six weeks was up and we opened the pickles I was very pleased with the reaction of my family. I then brought some to work and was told I had mastered the pickle.
Thanks for making me look so good.
I'm not sure yet. The first mix I used was a light yellow and the pickles were fantastic. When I got the new mix from you, it was a light orange in color. I haven't tried those picles yet. If they are as good, then I will need to hide them from my 5 year old grandson, he ate four of the ones from the first batch. Kathryn Flores.
We had a bumper crop of cukes this year and having tried Ball brand Kosher dill mix and another leading mix we determined that Ball had a better taste. Due to everyone else in our region having a massive Cuke crop the Ball packages had disappeared so we bought four flex batch containers. We used all of them up within two days of arrival. They did a great job at a great price. It was economical and convenient since our dill crop didn't grow this year and we had not anticipated the massive crop of cucumbers.
The Kosher Dill mix was one solid mass in the container which made me question the freshness of the product. I was able to break it apart with a little effort. I have made the pickles but do not know if they will be any good because the recommendation is to let them set up for 6 weeks before tasting. Hope they will be ok because it was time consuming to make them.
