This is my first experience with a potato ricer but I had done a lot of research before purchasing this one and I was not disappointed! Once you use a ricer you will never use a mixer on potatoes again! Easy to clean and use!
This is the first potatoe ricer I have ever used. It was recommended by American's Test Kitchen. It works really well. I'm not very strong and I have small hands so I find that if I only partially fill the hopper it is much easier to use.
Product works well. The amount that it holds could be larger but all and all it works fine. Ir comes with an additional larger hole metal plate as well. The product does not come with any instructions.

I have arthritis and chose this ricer based on the Americas Test Kitchen review, and I am so glad I got it. It has a smaller profile so it needs less force to push, and sits on a bowl or pot nicely. The second plate can store inside it, just plop them both in the plate position and don't click the holder in. So, no losing the extra parts. Cleans off easily. I heard it can get water inside the hollow plastic so I do not immerse it.
I SAW THIS ON AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN AND IT LOOKED VERY EASY TO USE. I BAKED THE POTATOES THOROUGHLY; PEELED THEM; AND CUT INTO SMALL PIECES; PLACED A COUPLE OF PIECES AT A TIME INTO THE RICER AND COULD NOT PUSH THE TWO ARMS TOGETHER. THE POTATOES WERE JAMMED UP AGAINST THE SCREEN. I CHANGED THE SCREEN TO THE LARGE HOLES AND STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I ASKED MY HUSBAND TO COME AND TRY TO FORCE THE POTATOES THROUGH THE RICER AND HE COULDN'T MAKE IT WORK EITHER. I'm GOING BACK TO MY OLD STAINLESS STEEL ONE THAT IS DIFFICULT IN ITS OWN RIGHT.
