Makes Great Mashed Potatoes!

by James, IL
December 29, 2008

This is my first experience with a potato ricer but I had done a lot of research before purchasing this one and I was not disappointed! Once you use a ricer you will never use a mixer on potatoes again! Easy to clean and use!

Smooth Potatoes

by patricia, CA
June 10, 2009

This is the first potatoe ricer I have ever used. It was recommended by American's Test Kitchen. It works really well. I'm not very strong and I have small hands so I find that if I only partially fill the hopper it is much easier to use.

Potato Ricer by RSVP Int'l

by Barbara, PA
December 29, 2008

Product works well. The amount that it holds could be larger but all and all it works fine. Ir comes with an additional larger hole metal plate as well. The product does not come with any instructions.

Riced potatoes better

by Pat, VA
December 2, 2008

Tried my potato ricer by RSVP International for first time on Thanksgiving. My family said the mashed potatoes were much lighter and more flavorful than they had ever been. I thought the potatoes had much improved texture over traditional mashed potatoes. They tasted pretty good (fresh) too!

Great except for clean-up

by Pam, CA
November 10, 2009

This ricer works great for mashed potatoes, but clean up is a problem. Do not immerse in water as water accumulates in the base portion. To drain this water you must stand it on end for a long period of time. I f this is not done it will drain wherever you put it for storage. Would recommend being able to separate base unit from the upper parts at the hinge. Also being able to separate the base handle portion, (green from white), would facilite cleaning and drainage.
Otherwise it works great.

Lefse Partner

by Renae, SD
April 17, 2010

This item is particularly useful in the making of lefse. I also like the two different discs, which makes it easy to get a larger "ricer" product for different vegetables. I would definitely recommend this for individuals with arthritis in their hands, like myself. Thank you for offereing this product.

Never make mashed potatoes with a mixer again

by mary, WV
April 24, 2010

This is my second RSVP Potato Ricer. The first is kept on our RV, I had to have one for the house too. It works like a dream. Easy to clean, dishwasher safe. The texture is great and the taste is fantastic. Run the cooked potatoes through the ricer, a little butter, salt & pepper and milk stir it up and you have perfect potatoes. No more whipping potatoes with a mixer ever again.

Yummy potatoes

by Frances, FL
November 4, 2009

Potatoes were very good. Can't wait to try it to make German dumplings and spaezle.
I wish there were instructions to use since I have never riced anything. Also was hard to take apart to clean or change blade. My husband had no problem though.

Creamy Mash

by Maryjo, TX
December 16, 2009

My first attempt to use the RSVP International Potato Ricer was not at all successful, only because I undercooked the potatoes. A lesson one likely will only have to learn once when using a ricer. Undercooked potatoes are near impossible to pass through a ricer! Attempt number two proved to be far better. The potatoes glided through the ricer with ease, and yielded smooth, creamy potatoes (my family loved them). The RSVP International Potato Ricer is easy to operate, requiring very little muscle power as compared with other ricers. And the smooth, contoured handle allows you to re-load and continue ricing potatoes over and over without cutting into your hands like some other ricers can do. This is a great product, it's dishwasher safe, and economical too. What more could a busy cook ask for?

perfect potatoes!

by Justin, UT
December 19, 2009

I purchased this particular ricer after seeing it reviewed by America's Test Kitchen. I love that it comes completely apart for cleaning in the dishwasher. I also love the two different sizes of plates for ricing. It is well built, sturdy plastic and metal, and easy to use. It does require some hand strength and may prove harder to use for anyone with arthritis or really small hands. Me? I make my husband do it!
If you very lightly fold in some butter and milk or cream with your potatoes after ricing, you'll have the fluffiest, most perfect potatoes ever! I won't do mashed/whipped potatoes any other way now that I have this handy gadget!

The lightest "Mashed Potatoes " you'll ever taste. Easy to use, easy to clean. Also an excellent tool for pressing water out of spinach and other watery vegetables.

Potato Ricer

by christopher, TX
March 28, 2010

The RSVP potato ricer was the top rated product on America's Test Kitchen. After I received it, I tried it right away. It works wonderfully. I would recommend this product to everyone. Some of the other reviews I read before I ordered it suggested that it is hard to take apart to clean, I didn't have any problems at all.
It is a wonderful product.

RSVP Potato Ricer--great!

by Janet, CA
December 9, 2010

This kitchen tool is really great! Well designed and made and very easy to use and clean. It made great "mashed" potatoes without bringing out a mixer. It was much better than the metal ricer I bought and returned last year. Great price too! Cooking.com's service is great also.
Happy Customer : )

A great potato ricer!

by Ann, MO
April 9, 2012

I bought this on the recommendation of Cooks Illustrated. I never owned a ricer before and the price was so reasonable that I thought I'd try it. I love it! With one easy squeeze of the handle you have perfectly smooth potatoes. I've also used it for sweet potatoes and turnips and it works perfectly. And it's easy to clean.

Good value

by Pamela, MO
January 7, 2010

It's mostly plastic, but very sturdy. If I'm ricing russets, I do have to cut them in half due to the thick skins. But it handles whole Yukon Golds easily.

No more beating yourself silly with a hand masher or worrying about a pasty texture using a mixer. Potatoes thru ricer, stir in melted butter, milk or whatever you prefer and they are perfect. Easy to use and clean.
