Great Pan for EVERYTHING

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pan. It is nice and big and I not only can fry things but it is big enough to make large amounts of soups in too. You only need one pan for everything. Brown, add liquid, cover and simmer. The glass lid makes it so easy to keep an eye on amount of liquid. To think I was questioning whether to buy it or not. I am so glad I did.

What a great pan!

We are committed to Calphalon, and had looked at the 12 inch pan, but then found this one, and it is perfect. We had another 12 inch that this one replaced (a coated aluminum version), and this one cooks so much more evenly. We are vegetarians, which means temperature control is ultra critical, and this pan exceeds our expectations. We already had this in 10 inch, but this size offers so much more flexibility in what and how much you can cook.

A very versatile pan

My boyfriend is an ardent cook and has an extensive array of Kitchen utensils, including knives,pots and pans. (So....I have to upgrade MY collection!) After investing in a nice set of knives (ALSO from this web site), this is my second upgrade purchase. Very versatile. I like the handle on the opposite side of the pan, and the fact that I can pick up this pan with no hot pads. Also, the glass cover was a must-have feature. It IS a big pan -- you might want to find a 12" version.

Love it

Bought this to replace my old, warped 12-inch fryer. It has everything I was looking for: non-stick, opposite side handle, lid, and it's Calphalon! The pan is heavy, so you'll be happy the handle is there for extra support. Happily cooked pancakes the day it arrived - and fit 5 or 6 in the pan. Best part? They cooked evenly. Great pan.

The Best

I Love It. Use it twice so far. From stove top into the oven. Looking at it, thought I was in trouble for clean up. Cleaned up great, couldn't have asked for a better pan.

FINALLY MY SEARCH IS OVER!!!

After looking for a non-stick fry pan with high sides, my search is finally over! I LOVE this pan!! I have a gas cooktop and the 13' diameter works great. I have only used it once to fry bacon which cooked evenly and the whole pack cooked in 2 batches with minimal splattering of grease (because of the high sides which is why I was looking for this kind of a pan:) I can't wait to use it to fry chicken legs for my son (his favorite food) and am already 100% sure that this fry pan will be perfect and another plus is that it is easy to clean. I bought this pan when it was on sale and am sure glad that I did!!

Great size, great price, great pan. I made fajitas in this pan the first time I used it. Cooked the chick great and clean up was a breeeeze. Buy it. You know you want to.

Just what I wanted. Big enough for everything, heats evenly. Heavy but not too as some have said. Cleans like a dream.

Michael Simon was right!

I think Michael Simon is a terrific chef. If he recommends a product there has to be substance to that recommendation. The fry pan is quality all the way from its appearance to the heft to the way it performs. I will be with Calphalon for a very long time. If this pan lasts as long as I think it will, I may not have to ever order another one.

Too Big---Ha

I bought this for my Wife who fell in love with two nonstick skillets (Calphalon) I got for her several months ago. She took one look at the 13.5 inch skillet and pronounced it was "too big," too expensive" and she would have little use for it. Fast forward three weeks. She has used the skillet almost every day (twice yesterday) and wonders why she thought it was too big and what a great bargain. She can't believe it is really nonstick as nonstick as her other Calphalon skillets and cleans up so quickly with a little soap and dish cloth. She already plans to give one to one of our sons who loves to cook for his birthday in April.

Fabulous work-horse, "go to" pan!

I purchased this pan w/lid set to replace a Cuisinart model, that was similar, that bowed in the middle after only having it a couple months. The Calphalon pan is FAR superior in quality and weight! The bottom of the skillet is thicker and heavier. More importantly, the entire bottom surface is flat on my ceramic cook top and does not "rock" like my old pan. This plan cleans up like a breeze and is definitely my "work horse" pan for the many one-skillet meals I make for my family. I also own a Calphalon 10" omelet pan, which is my "go to" pan for smaller dishes that require a fry-type pan. Excellent products!

Love Cooking with It

This is wonderful when you want to pan fry all those fresh summer veggies. It is so easy to clean too! Can't wait to buy matching pieces. Do hope that this line is on sale until Christmas. Would make great gifts.

What a Frying Pan!!!

Needed a covered fry pan for chicken and preparing my ingredients for stuffed peppers. Wanted an American-made product. This pan is everything I wanted and more. The metal handles allow me to use it in the oven. The only reason I gave it only 4 stars is that it is quite heavy. If I had do do it over again--I would definitely purchase this item and would recommend it.

A Pan that works for just about everything

I purchased the large Fry pan and cant stop using it. It's great for just about everything. Thank you for a great tool.

Great product

This is a great product. Will probably buy the smaller size as well,however this size works great for cooking bacon, etc.

13 in. nonstick covered fry pan

The pan had a small defect on the bottom when it arrived, not sure if this would have gotten worse (a very small chip in the shiny surface)reported it to the company and decided to return it for a replacement. the company provided a shipping sticker and the pan is now in transit back to the company. Since we have not yet used the item cannot rate it. Was pleased with the company's prompt response in getting the replacement process started.
