I've only used 3 or 4 of the knives so far but they work great. Seems to be a great buy!!

the block is nice; no more wood shavings. Should be hand washed; did not fair well in dishwasher.

    This cutlery set is awesome!

I love my new cutlery. Our old set was like trying to saw through cement with a plastic knife. I have to remind myself that these do exactly what cutlery are intended to do. They are also beautiful! They look great on the kitchen counter.

I bought them because a cook recommended them and I've use only one knife so far and It was kind of stiff to use but after I got the feel for it I was happy with my selection.

Not very impressed. I knew before ordering that they were serrated, but considering they were Henckels, I thought they would be better than the 'ginsu' type knives out there. (yes I'm lazy and was trying to avoid regular professional sharpening... stupid me) They do look nice (which is why I purchased them), and the price was surely right, but I guess I'm not used to having to 'saw' through an onion. The bread knife is good, as a previous reviewer posted.

I guess you get what you pay for. I like the look of them in my kitchen and will use the steak knives and some of the other knives, but I ordered one of Henckel's 5-star Santoku knives to use in place of the Chefs knife for basic chopping, dicing.

All in all, not bad for the price but don't expect the performance of a forged knife. My $60 set of 'Cooks Essentials' I purchased from QVC a few years ago (don't laugh), actually outperform these as long as you keep them sharpened.
