Cooks well & looks nice but tough to clean.

by ROGER, AZ
February 16, 2012

I have other stainless steel cookware that is much easier to clean. I hope this cookware gets better with age, because it is disappointing now. The seams in the lids could collect dirt too.

Wow!

by Esmeralda, OR
March 26, 2012

First, we have a gas stove and was surprised how the handles remained cool. We fried up some potstickers and none of them stuck to the bottom of the pan! The only negative is that the glass lids do get pretty hot. After using the same set of pans for 15+ years, we are so glad we purchased these pans!

Great for Induction Cooktops

My only complaint is a little discoloration after cooking, which I intend to try to get out by using Bar Keeper's Friend.

Disappointed - Made In China

by Michael, IL
December 25, 2012

I was disappointed that the product was made in China. Other Calphalon products that I own (hard anodized aluminum) are made in the USA. I purchased the Stainless set after looking at the Made In USA - Toledo, Ohio on my aluminum set. I am considering returning the Stainless cookware. If I had known that the Stainless is Made In China I would never have purchased the product. I will make sure that everyone that I can contact knows that this product is Made In China.

I have this set and have had it for years. It's fantastic. I bought the new set for my sister for Christmas and she absolutely loves it! This brand is expensive, but you get what you pay for! It's worth every penny. I have been buying pieces for the childcare I own too because you just can't hurt this set and it cleans so well. I have been told I make the best fudge on the planet, and I think it's more the great pot than my fudge making ability.

I really like them, but rubbing oil bf cooking does not keep things from sticking...didn't know I couldn't use Pam bf my purchase. But otherwise I like the set very much. Just have to find something that works to make it non stick.

Well, I really only wanted to get a new stock pot. But after months of reading review after review (calphalon vs. all-clad, etc.), I decided on getting all new pans from Calphalon. I went to their website and got 25% off my purchase as well as free utensils AND a free searing pan! This was a huge purchase for me and every little bit helps. When it arrived in it's huge box I was thrilled and scared. Maybe I shouldn't have spent so much money on pots and pans. I started removing the items, and I thought it would never end! It went on and on. There was a lot packed into that box. I was so excited! The pans are VERY nice and heavy and shiny. I washed everything like I was told and put them away (with the cardbd. thingies between each pan so they wouldn't get scratched). Now, I didn't want to use them. I was scared. They were so nice! There are special instructions to read before cooking with these pans. All of sudden I'm having a panic attack. I didn't want to cook anything. In the beginning, I would just grab my old pans and say oh just use these this time. I was so nervous to use them for the first time. Maybe I should return them. I'm not worthy of such beautiful pans. They scare me. What if I cook 'wrong' in them? Then a while later another box came (I forgot about these) and here were my free utensils and container to put them in, AND, lo and behold, another free pan and cover! OMG can it get any better than this? Now I REALLY felt like a got a great deal! Oof, just bite the bullet, and use them now! So I have. They have been great. Keep in mind they are a bit heavier. I heeded Calphalon's instruction on cooking with them. Cook at med. now instead with med-hi. Warm up the pan first if frying, etc. They clean up pretty well (as well as my old ones), but I did buy Bar Keepers Friends to keep the bottoms looking shiny. I hand wash and dry immediately so no spots. I'm still obsessed with keeping them shiny and beautiful (I'm sure this too will pass after awhile...maybe). I can only compare these to what I had and feel I made a worthy purchase. These should last a very, very long time. Now I have a stock pot that doesn't wobble while water is heating up.

Awesome set - even better value

by Joseph, MI
March 18, 2013

We like this set so much that we have literally either thrown away or given away all other pots and pans. We bought a new stove at the same time we purchased these and it has been a breeze adjusting the temperature to the pans to achieve the desired result. The variety of sizes ensures that there is always a pan for the desired dish. These pans retain their heat so it can go from stove top to table and look good doing it. The glass lids are also a great asset since you can see how the meal is doing without having to lift the lid.

Don't let stainless cookware scare you off...

by Michael, NY
March 22, 2013

This is my first set of quality stainless steel cookware and I was a little intimidated by some of the other reviews out there about food sticking and the difficulty in cleaning it. I've been cooking on these pans for two weeks now and have had no such issues. I preheat the frying and saut'e pans over a medium/low before adding the oil or butter. Stay away from aerosol cooking sprays because they create a film that is hard to clean off. I have made both over-easy and scrambled eggs without any problems. There are several how-to videos on the internet that a new user will find helpful. I have not had any issues with clean-up either. I just let the pans cool and then hand wash in hot soapy water. I did use "Barkeepers Friend" once when I had a little discoloration in my small sauce pan and that polished it up like new. I'm looking forward to enjoying this cookware for many years to come.

My last set of cookware

by Janice, FL
April 26, 2013

I'm a huge cook, but my husband (bless his heart) has been buying me cheap cookware for ages- with the completion of our kitchen remodel he surprised me with getting to pick out a set for myself- I'm in love with these! As long as you know how to cook with stainless (or read the literature it comes with) NOTHING sticks- and I mean nothing- I burned a cheese sauce to bits the other night and not a bit of that cheese stuck! Will never own anything but calphalon again!
