    Basically great

I wanted a mandoline to handle basic, daily slicing needs, nothing fancy and not expensive. This hand held mandoline by OXO fits the bill! I love it for slicing vegetables into consistent slices for casseroles, salads, or just crudite. Then just a quick wash and back into the drawer. There's even a locked setting for safety. Perfect!

This item seems to work well with potatoes and onions but seems to make mush out of tomatoes.

I was looking for a mandolin and I happened upon this product by accident. I didn't need a bulky fancy cutter and I am limited for space in my kitchen and this was just the right size for my needs. Must caution ALWAYS use the safety shield. Also couldn't beat the price "with a stick." Love It!

    Dream Mandoline

    by Kellie, IN
    February 15, 2011

I spent over $60 on a mandolin that I wasn't happy with. This Mandoline was under $20 including shipping and handling, and performs far better. I love the ease of storage and versatility of this slicer. Perfect for larger items. Makes slicing potatos a breeze.

The hand held mandolin slicer arrived in just a few days and worked beautifully. It sliced onions quickly and easily. No more cut fingers from slicing with a knife!

Works far better than I expected, for so little money,.

The blade is exceptionally sharp and cuts anything (including fingers if you're not careful) with little effort,.

    January 12, 2010

When my son opened this present at Christmas his sister asked for one for her birthday, she was so jealous. Also, my sister went out and bought one also. Three sales within a couple weeks. I think that's pretty good. Shipping time was excellent also. Thanks!

    best I have used

    by SUSAN, MD
    December 22, 2011

I had a few user errors due to the lack of instructions. But I have bought 2 mandolines prior and they don't do what this does. It is sharp and gives me the ability to slice anything. The other mandolines had V shaped blades. This is easy to use as long as you use the guide. The only thing about the guide is the plastic tines aren't long enough to hold the item being sliced. Just be careful, as I did cut my finger trying to get close. Overall, love love love this item. Use it all the time.

    Works beautifully for slaws

    by Rosemary, DC
    May 4, 2012

I've only used this a couple of times for unusual slaws (jicama-apple-cabbage and green apple-radish-red onion), and in both cases it worked beautifully. Even with my arthritic fingers, I had no trouble working with it at all. Can't wait to try with other things.
