The peel is the key to getting the pizza on and off the pizza stone, without this tool you are just asking to have a mess on your hands, as well as burnt fingers. Dash some corn meal on the peel, lay down the dough, build your pizza, then slide the pizza on to the preheated stone in the 500F oven. Just seven to nine minutes later your pizza is done. The peel slips easily under the cooked pizza and makes you look like a real pro.
The edge is a little thick and doesn't slide under the pizza as easily as a thinner one but it's not bad. It would just be nice if it was thinner. Overall I am really enjoying using it and it has made my pizza making better and easier. Anyone who makes pizza should absolutely have one of these!

This "Peel"/Spatula is big enough, but I have difficulty getting the cooked item on the Peel without shoving it all over the oven first.
It does have tapered edges to help getting under whatever it is you are cooking.
The wood of the Peel is very soft and is easily marred and scratched.
This is NOT a cutting board, so dont slice your pizzas or breads on the Peel, use a proper cutting board.
This peel arrived in good condition. I rubbed a lot of mineral oil into it to prevent the laminated wood from splitting, and maybe to prevent warp-age. The peel is now stored vertically wedged between cooking sheets and a wall. It has been over a month and the peel is straight and true.
The pizza stone is decent though you can buy something nice for cheaper from some other cooking stores. The pizza peel is so cheaply made I couldn't stand it and had to send it back. The wood it's made of is cheap and the edge isn't even smoothed out. I have seen better pizza peels from many other retail stores and that's where I am going to get mine. The pizza peel from this set (I saw 2 different ones before I decided I don't want them) reminds me of a discount store pizza peel you can buy for $10 or less from local supermarkets.
This product was a lot bigger than I expected - I know they tell you the size, but it is much larger than the old pizza stone I had. It works really well, makes a great thin crust pizza, and is not just for pizza! The instructions were simple and helpful and the peel makes you fell like you have your own pizzeria at home! Great product!
Well, this peel came as part of a package deal along with a baking stone. It is very small but might be useful for a small loaf or pizza. I have yet to use it but it came with a baking stone that I am very happy with.
I bought for bread & pizza dough. the size is great but in my opinion not the greatest product. My husband got it wet and it warped and splintered. I did manage to straighten it out, but there were no warnings or cleaning suggestions given with this product. I think I would try a metal one next time.
This is the first pizza peel I have ever owned, and I think it works great! It seems to be built very sturdy, and is very large in size, so putting a large pizza on is no problem! It has a nice edge for scooping the pizza off the stone! The handle is nice, not to long, and not to short.
I would recommend this to anyone! It is affordable, and works great!
