We were looking to replace our non-stick 12-inch pan. Since we always crowded our food in the 12-incher, I figured we should go one size bigger. The base alone is 14-inches wide, then it flares up and out from there! Thank goodness for the helper handle! The long and helper handles are slightly different from the original set we purchased 3 years ago [look stamped, not cast], but that doesn't affect the functionality. The shallow sides make it easy to get in there to stir or flip pancakes. We bought on sale, which seems like a more accurate value than MSRP. We use on our largest burner [gas] on a med-high heat with excellent results: no sticking or staining.

The base of the pan is fine in terms of heat conduction with the 3-ply. However, the sides of the pan do not have the extra thickness and get much hotter with less even heat distribution. The sides will scorch very easily so one has to be extra careful as to how much goes into the pan and how high one can stir without scorching. The sides could be a bit thicker and heavier.
