First saw this item being used on a cooking show ...and knew I had to have one. I had no expectations of this product, but after trying it, I was really glad I purchased it. I've tried chicken breasts, fish and vegetables (new potatoes,asparagus and tomatoes) so far. This smoker adds great flavor and the chicken breasts come out delicious and moist everytime! The fish is always cooked perfectly! ( and I always overcook fish!!) This smoker won't let you fail! The woodchips that come with it are just the right intensity to add great flavor to whatever you're cooking. The variety allows you freedom to experiment! The instruction/recipe book gives you simple and clear instructions, and offers suggestions on woodchip-flavor selection. If you remember to use the foil and spray the rack with oil as suggested, it makes the clean up really easy. Very little smoke escapes from the pan, but you may want to open up some windows and disconnect your smoke alarm if it's sensitive (like ours!) If you're cooking for more than 3-4 people, you might want to purchase more than one smoker. One holds about four medium chicken breasts and about four fish filets and probably two steaks. I've ordered another one so I can smoke vegetables and meat at the same time. This little $39.95 smoker has replaced our $700.00 gas grill !!!

Yes | No Report Violation »So far I have tried cooking boneless chicken breasts and a bone-in turkey breast (with the help of aluminum foil as a cover). The smoky taste was a little milder in the turkey breast than I would have liked, but perhaps using more chips would help fix that. Both the chicken and the turkey came out succulent, moist and tender, but they did not brown at all.
The lack of browning is the only negative I have found thus far in using the smoker; I 'll experiment with pre-browning the chicken breasts next time, or plan to use in a recipe where it doesn't matter.
I found the smoker to be very easy to use, and I really like the idea of cooking without any added fat.
Awesome stovetop smoker
I was skeptical, but this is an excellent smoker. First thing made was smoked salmon. Worked great. Immediately bought some additional
smoking woods. A lot of smoke recipes on the web. Only problem,
and it natural, is the smoke goes everywhere. A shroud might not be a
additional product.
Great for Inside Cooking
Product is top quality - great for inside cooking on stovetop - Poultry and pork had a great smokey flavor and meat was tender. Easy technique for the non-cook too! Looking forward to trying more types of meat or seafood.

I always envied my friends with backyards; they could set up their BGEs and enjoy smoked foods whenever they wanted. But I no longer wish I were them! With this stovetop smoker I can easily get those smoky flavors without trouble or mess.The Camerons smoker works exactly as promised, producing well-flavored smoked meats, fish, and anything else -- and my smoke alarm never even whispers! The smoker is easy to use and easy to clean (in the dishwasher!).The directions that come with it are clear, easy to follow, and right on the money. I am one very happy (non)camper.

The flesh was moist and the smoked flavor was somewhat subtle but good. I used the smoker on a smooth-top range and it worked great. Very little smoke escaped and it did not smell up the house.

I was concerned when I bought it about smoking up the house but we have not had a problem with that. It is no worse than if you cooked bacon for breakfast.

Absolutely everything that we have tried smoking has been delicious. Try it, you will not be dissappointed!
I received this product, and have used it 10 out of 12 days. It is wonderful, and with the different smoke flavors, the food does NOT get boring! Very easy to clean. I've smoked potatoes, Ahi Tuna, salmon, lamb, pork loin chops, and of course hamburgers, chicken and tomatoes (except for the fish and herbed tomatoes, all were finished on the grill). I also put a small sprig of slightly dried rosemary in the smoking area, along with chips, and this also imparts an excellent flavor with the chicken and lamb.
Suggestion: When buying this item, order extra chips, or you'll run out before the new ones arrive. Also hoping Cooking.com will carry the smaller sized Cameron Cooker soon, this would be great for campers and camping.
I was apprehensive about the idea of smoking food indoors, but have been pleasantly surprised by the minimal cooking odors and lack of actual smoke this process produces while doing a great job. In fact, the alderwood had a sweet scent. NB: we do use it with a 600 cfm vent hood, and my husband crimps some foil paper around the perimeter for a tighter seal, but honestly, average frying or grilling produce far more smoke and fumes. Have enjoyed smoked Walleye, chicken breast, and am about to try it with some venison chops. Conveys a delicate flavor to the food, enhances without overwhelming. Nice heavy gauge of stainless steel, feels solid. While product is dishwasher safe, base pan is too large to fit in my dishwasher, so still have to handwash (line with foil to save cleaning effort).

I only wish it would hold more you can barely squeeze 2 racks of ribs in it. If you like to Barbeque this gives your meat that perfect smokehouse flavor. Great alternative for those cold or rainy days when you don't want to go outside and grill. Can't wait to try some salmon and turkey in it. Also the price is very low for what this thing can to. If you want to smoke for more than 2 hours I recommend finishing it in the oven because I am not sure how much it can taked on straight flames. It's made out of a thin aluminum and burns the bottom pretty good. Even so it cleans up real easy.

Any time I cook with it, people rave on the preperation. Great results in a timely manner. This is a second time purcase of this item and is a gift. Very recommended. There is a cookbook called "Smokin" that is made especially for this smoker that I would recommend as well.

If you can remember cooking over an open campfire, and the great taste it added to your food, you can now recapture that in your own kitchen!!!!!.
This Cameron Smoker is easy to use, works exactly as you said it would, and is simple to clean up. What an outstanding value!!!!!.

I asked for this item for Christmas but didn't receive one. So, I purchased it for myself. I've used my stove top smoker 3 times since receiveing it on February 10. My rack of lamb turned out superb with the oak chips. I've also cooked a flank steak & chicken leg/thighs (with hickory chips) All the meals were absolutely wonderful. But the lamb was the best. I highly recommend this product.
