I used this for thanksgiving turkey and loved it. It is sturdy but not so heavy that it takes two people get it out of the oven. Good value and half the price of the competition. Easy to clean.

This is an excellent value for the $$. I've looked at the high end for $199 and this is just as good or better. Love the fact that it's stainless vs. Teflon coated as when you use to deglaze for gravey you have more bits in the stainless vs. non-stick for better flavor.

Great roasting pan and rack. Very happy with product. Read review from magazine Cook's Illustrated, so helped me pick this pan. Hard to find!

The quality of the stainless steel is good for the value but the center of the pan is raised instead of completely flat. I want the ability to put the pan on the stove to make gravy from the pan drippings. The raised center makes it difficult to add any liquids to lift the drippings with even heat distribution.

This pan performed the essential function of being able to brown the roast at a high temp. without warping, continue in the oven and then finish by deglazing and making a pan sauce. The only draw back is the uneven surface of the pan. I assume there is a reason for this, but it does somewhat interfere with the browning.

High-quality, durable stainless roaster

I really appreciate having a heavy-duty, solid stainless roaster that will hold whatever I want to cook, look good if I need to serve from it, and stand up to whatever cleaning method I need to use. I already had a high-priced non-stick roaster, but it lasted less than a year before the non-stick coating started to peel off. This roaster will hold the largest roast or turkey I could put into it, can be transfered to the cooktop for finishing the gravy, won't buckle under the weight, and looks beautiful on a buffet if I neede it for a giant cassarole or lasagna.

I am extremely pleased with this pan.It is exactly as advertised.It isn't real heavy but works well on the stove top as well as the oven.I have worked in many area restaurants so I cook more gourmet meals than most home cooks.It makes a nice pan gravy very easy to make.I would certainly reccomend this to anyone who wants a really nice roasting pan.I purchased this pan on sale for under $100.00 with free shipping so it was an even better deal.

Calphalon SS Roaster - a great value!

I purchased this item after reading an equipment testing report in Cook's Illustrated, the Consumer Reports for cooking products. Having had the opportunity to use this product in preparing our 2007 Thanksgiving turkey, I am pleased to report that the roasting pan performed very well.

This roaster can accomodate turkeys of all sizes, the roasting rack is well-designed for easy placement and removal and to keep the turkey in the right position, and there is plenty of room below the roasting rack for vegetables, herbs and liquid.

East clean up

I let my daughter use the pan since she was baking the turkey on Thanksgiving. When I arrived at her house the turkey was beautiful; however, the roasting pan was a mess and I thought the baked on juices in the bottom would never come clean. But the pan cleaned up easily and was just as nice as before.

I love this pan. It's the first really nice roaster I bought, and probably the last!

While I wanted to purchase a good roasting pan; when I received it in the mail this pan was fancier than I wanted. The handles seemed designed more for show than practical. It was a lovely-looking roasting pan, but didn't suit my needs.

Stainless is not stainless. Have spots on it after one use. The rack could be improved by the base somehow fitting tighter in the pan, it slides when removing pan from oven.

Good, but not great.

I was eager to try out this roasting pan given the reviews. It works just fine, but I am slightly disappointed with the quality. The pan developed stains on the interior after the first use. I didn't bake at a particularly high temperature or cook anything odd (turkey + vegetables), so I am surprised how these white stains came about. No amount of washing gets them out. Still, the pan is sturdy, and I'm sure I'll get many years of use out of it. I would still recommend it. The size of the pan and the design of the handles is very practical.

I am very pleased with this product. It actually arrived within two weeks! It was large enough to cook a 16 pound turkey and was easy enough to clean.

I bought the pan especially for Thanksgiving. It's big enough for a good sized bird. The rack worked well. The pan performed very well on stove top during the deglazing and gravy making process. Do not worry that it is not NON-STICK.

The perfect roasting pan

The Calphalon Roasting pan is the perfect roasting pan. It is large enough to encompass any roasting need. I prefer stainless steel to non-stick. I personally find non-stick harder to keep clean. With stainless, a little scrubbing keeps it beautiful. It's heavy, which is good for braising. I love the curved handles. It's easy to pick up. And it's beautiful.

Perfect roasting pan for Thanksgiving turkey

I bought this pan several months ago but never got around to use it until this Thanksgiving. The pan has a very good size (large). I roasted a 14-pound turkey and the bird came out perfectly golden brown. The vegetables on the bottom were caramelized. It feels very sturdy moving it in and out of the oven. It fits well over two burners. The caramelized bits scraped off beautifully when I made a gravy. Although it doesn't have a non-stick surface, clean-up is a breeze. A sponge wipes everything right off. I love that it has an aluminum core, not all stainless steel. And the price is right.
