Because we know that no traditional holiday feast is complete without a succulent turkey, brown sugar-basted ham or herb-roasted chicken, we also understand just how important it is to have a roasting pan that ensures the centerpiece of your meal is the perfectly cooked masterpiece you and your loved ones deserve. This Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized Roasting Pan with Nonstick Rack is made from hard-anodized aluminum, making for a durable, long-lasting product that is resistant to chipping, staining and scratching, which means you can use metal utensils in the roaster when you're turning the meat or vegetables or making gravy. Hard-anodized aluminum also conducts heat evenly for consistent cooking and browning, and acts as a nonstick surface without needing an added nonstick coating that can flake off and ruin your food. This Calphalon roasting pan comes with a nonstick rack which holds your roast off the bottom of the pan, leaving room for roasting vegetables, collecting juices for use in sauces or gravy, and allowing air to circulate around the meat for even cooking and crispy skin. The rack feature also allows for some nontraditional uses; for example, reheat crab legs in the oven by placing them in the rack over a little water, and you'll have a juicy, tender seafood dinner. When you're ready to take your dinner out of the oven, grab the roomy roaster's two handles, which are multi-riveted onto the roaster for strength and security.

Best Used For:

Roasting chicken, turkey, ham, duck, quail, partridge, brisket and prime ribs -- with or without vegetables.

  • Excellent product, good value. cleanded up easily. just made a 18# (brined with salt and sugar) turkey, injected with wine as well, and was a great hit at our last dinner party!

I believe this roasting pan (or one very similar) with the tall side handles was the one recomended on "America's Test Kitchen" and certainly now endorsed by a fairly experienced home chef, and maker of some 30 turkeys in the past.

    I recommend this product.

  • A great roasting pan for the money

This is a very good roasting pan for the home cook. It fits nicely in a smaller oven and is easy to manipulate. I found that it had even heat and was heavy enough to use without the rack. The rack is very nice but would be more convenient if it were collapsible, but is ok. I like the finish. I recommend hand washing rather using dishwasher to prolong the life of the pan. At this price it is an excellent purchase.

    I recommend this product.

  • When roasting water must be constantly added otherwise the drippings hit bottom of pan and create smoke.

  • Great quality but pricey

I like the heavy quality of the metal and the smooth bottom works well for making gravy. The rack is also sturdy and the handles positioned well for lifting a piece of meat. I have no complaints about the design and quality, just not used to paying so much for one pan.

    I recommend this product.

  • I used this roaster for the first time Thanksgiving 2006. It was great for roasting the turkey; when it came time to take the turkey out of the oven and make the gravy, the rack made it very easy to get the turkey out of the pan and then use the pan on the stovetop to make the gravy. I highly recommend this product!

  • Roasting pan

I found this roasting pan no better or worse then the one I presently have, which was free from Linens & Things five years ago. I thought the pan would have been heavier and a better non-stick surface. For the price, I was not impressed and returned the item, which wound up costing me additional $$$ for mailing. Some times I think its best to be able to touch/feel items so you know exactly what you're getting. Patti

  • as an on sale item, but I have had some trouble with the surface getting a bit tainted. When I used it to boil water for LONGER foods, specifically crab legs, the no stick surface got stained. This is the anodized aluminum and should not have this happen. I will work it over w/ a colution of 'bar maide' cleaner soap and see what happens. The problem I'm having would not hurt the roaster's ability to roast a prime rib, turkey, ham or otherr foood item, It just is not 'eye' apealling.

    I recommend this product.

  • The first thing I used my new roasting pan for was a prime rib roast. It turned out perfectly. The pan was easy to handle and a breeze to clean. Of course I love all Calphalon products.

  • I purchased this pan to roast veggies such as potatoes, parsnips, butternut squash or eggplant & pepper combination. Roasted at 415 degrees with sufficient oil, the veggies stuck more than I thought they would. However, my overall impression was good.
