I bought this product as a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law, a woman who loves to bake. Even with all the kids gone, she bakes cookies, bread and makes treats; then sells them at her office to coworkers. She loves the bread pan and has already used it twice. She reports, "I love the fact that the bread pan holds the shape of a 'loaf' instead of raising flat across the cookie sheet that I used to use. The bread has a more uniform shape. Also, the clean-up is something to get excited about -- the finish of the bread pan comes sparkling clean with the swipe of the dish cloth, --no baked-on hard spots.....and I love it that you don't have to clean dough out all of the little holes with a toothpick like you have to on our old pizza sheet. I hadn't greased the bread pan first as my recipe didn't say to, and it didn't stick to the finish. I hope to bake bread more often now." It's great to have purchased a gift for her that she truly enjoys and will use often!

I tried to use a stone to get a crisp crust on my French an Italian breads, but this nonstick baggett pan gave me what I was looking for. It also kept loose dough from flattening out so the loves were more rounded. There was no sticking at all and the browning was even all around

I purchased the pan to bake gluten-free french bread. I didn't have to line the pan w/ foil, and my bread turned out very nice... much better than when I would try to shape the loaf on a sheet pan. It is a very useful addition to a gluten-free baker's kitchen... I'm glad I purchaed it.

This is my second one, I had to get another so I could make loaves in quanity. The bread browns nicely through the perferations which gives a good crispy crust all around. I even line this pan with non stick foil when I make gluten free french bread. When it is half way baked, I remove the foil and finish the bread in the pan so the bottom gets browned as the regular bread does. Chicago Metallic is one of my favorite companies!

It worked good as far as non stick goes but I wish the two outer sides came up a bit further. My dough kinda fell over the edge & then baked that way. The bread did come out crispy & good. My hubby probably could have fashioned a pan like this for me for alot less $.

I've only used this pan once but it seemed to work as advertised to produce crispy crusted bread in a french loaf shape. I will certainly continue to experiment...first time I let the dough over-rise and it fell (it was still pretty good, though).

The first and so far only use yielded the best crust on a french bread loaf I've ever had without a baking stone. The bread baked in about half the usual time, another plus for economy. I plan to use this quite often.

I bought this with the purpose of baking bigger loaves of bread than I could with the 3 tray baguette pan.
It does bake larger loaves that come out very nice and delicious.
The only problem I have is if you put dough that is too soft into the tray, it will tend to ooze through the holes,
So I would recommend one of two things. You can either lay parchment down in the pan prior to putting the dough in it.
Or you can wait til you're just about ready to put the loaves in the oven and then put them in the pan and then just transfer it into the oven. I tend to do the second method more often because I find parchment paper makes too much a mess in my oven.
french bread pan
was not curved up on the sides like the last ones I bought. My husband had to try to curve up the sides to hold up the bread while rising so the dough didn't fall over the edge.

Shipping and service were great. Pan performs well and fits into drawer/cabinet/oven just fine. Crust turns out crispy and crumb texture is tender--just as we prefer. Will recommend product and web site to friends/family.

The shape of the bread, however, comes out wider on top and narrower at the bottem which I'm not wild about, but the taste of the bread produced is exceptional.

I am following a gluten free diet. When making bread, the dough is soft and
sticky unlike regular bread dough. Yet, this pan allows for easy shaping of
my special dough and bakes up even and brown with no undercooked or overcooked areas. The insides are just wonderful-soft and filled with great
holes, giving the bread a normal French Bread-like texture. I love this pan, and continue to use it on a weekly basis. I recommend this product to anyone-the price point is good and the quality is excellent.

It is well made and works fine.

Not a necessity in my kitchen but is a nice luxury item that keeps hand made breads shape, less bottom bake like breads baked on sheet pans. Great for those hand made Artisan, par baked breads or frozen bread doughs. Would not recommend garlic or those breads containing condiments or spreads be baked on this. This item is better used as it tempers and seasons like an iron skillet. You defeat the function and purpose if you have to scrub the remnants of garlic butter or flavored spreads and left over condiments off it. You kill the temper then have to oil, spray, or grease it every time you use it in the future to keep the breads from sticking. A nice item for what it is and by no means will break the bank if you purchase. So I did. Not Thrilled as I have used thousands of times throughout my career and really think I purchased to have in the house as a bit of nostalgia. Does have the useful purpose of holding an artisan breads shape somewhat in an oven with no steam.

This kind of pan was recommended for a gluten-free bread recipe. Two smaller loaves bake better than one with these special kinds of flours.
